Callisto was huddled in a barely lit shop doorway with her phone clutched in her hand. She’d managed to stop crying long enough to send a text to Portia to ask for help, but she soon let her fears overwhelm her again as night closed in around her while she waited.

Portia was following the GPS signal on Callisto’s phone, her friends text had worried her a lot. She was usually so confident but she’d sounded scared and very unlike herself. Slowing when she got to the area her phone was telling her about she started looking for her friend, spotting her in a doorway. Pulling the car to a stop she got out and hurried over, “Callisto, are you alight?” she asked worriedly.

“Portia!” Callisto cried out and scrambled to stand, clutching the doorway as she did. She all but flung herself into Portia’s arms in relief. “You came! Thank you! Thank you!”

“Of course I came” Portia replied, hugging her friend, “Come on let’s get in the car and you can tell me what’s happened”

"Please," Callisto nodded in relief against her friend's shoulder. "Let's...but can I stay at yours please? She might go back to mine," she explained vaguely as she pulled back from the hug and let herself be steered towards the car.

Keeping her arm around her friends shoulder she nodded, “Of course you can stay” she said as they got to the car and Portia helped her in. “Now tell me what happened and who this ‘she’ is who has you so worried”

“She’s me,” Callisto told her, sliding down in the seat to peer over the edge of the door as she clicked her seatbelt over her. “But not me, she’s crazy! I found this...rock on the floor, it was a weird colour so...I picked it up,” she pushed her hair back “Next thing I know I’m looking at…at me, then she knocked me down and ran off, that’s when I text you,” she looked over at her friend as she drove. “I couldn’t remember where I was or what I was doing,” she closed her eyes in despair.

"Oh my god" Portia said, she had been reading about strange occurrences on the net all day bit hadn't thought much of it beyond the normal craziness that grasped the county regularly. "I wonder if its like an evil version of you" she suggested, "Like in movies sometimes"

“It makes sense,” Callisto agreed, putting her hand to her forehead. “I think I heard her break a car window and punch someone a little ways down the street, but I couldn’t go and see if they needed help in case she was still there,” she felt guilty over that, but she was just so scared.

“It’s okay” she said, patting and squeezing her friends hand, “You did the right thing, if she is the evil version of you then she might have hurt you too and nobody wants that to happen. We’ll work this out and get you back to normal” She sounded more confident than she felt which was good for Callisto.

"Yeah, thanks," Callisto told her, not feeling half as confident as Portia sounded. "Sorry to be a pain, but I didn't know who else to call," she explained.

“You’re not a pain” Portia assured her, “I’m just glad I could help. We’ll have pizza and beer and watch a movie how about that?” she was hoping to cheer Callisto up a little and take her mind off things.

"Ok...something with Katherine Heigl?" Callisto asked, almost absently as she watched the people pass out the car window.

“Yeah sure” Portia said, glancing at her friend out of the corner of her eye. This was weird, Callisto was the last person to want to watch a romcom, especially with the Heigl woman in it. She felt a little unnerved.

“Thanks,” Callisto smiled weakly at her, feeling more at ease as Portia put the miles between them and her evil self. “You didn’t have plans did you?”

“Nope, no plans” Portia said, “Don’t worry. I might do some sketches while we watch but I shouldn’t disturb you” she smiled over at her friend before her eyes returned to the road.

“Can I help? Do you need a model or anything?” Callisto offered. It was the right thing to do after all to repay Portia’s kindness.

“I might at some point but I’m just working on designs for now” she said, “But thank you. I will definitely take you up on the offer soon” Callisto had a great figure and Portia really wanted to get her into a well fitted dress.

“Ok,” Callisto replied quietly with a little nod. “What sort of stuff are you working on at the moment then?” she asked, trying to keep her mind off her evil self.

“Designs for the launch of the House of Glinda” Portia told her, “I can show you what I’ve done already if you like. And you can tell me what you think of my ideas”

“I’d like that,” Callisto smiled at her. “I’d like that a lot.”

“Then that is what we will do. Movie, pizza and fashion. A perfect night” she smiled.

Callisto nodded, still worried about what her other self was up to and how they would fix...whatever this was. Could it be reversed? Or would she always be this scared, little version of herself?

Portia hoped it could be reversed, for her friends sake. Callisto had always been this confident kick ass stunt woman and it was so much a part of who she was. But Portia would stick by her friend no matter what and be around to help with whatever fallout occurred.
