Spock was patient. Even though he'd wanted to see Uhura sooner than Thursday, he'd understood that she had real life obligations that she couldn't simply drop to the side for her maybe-boyfriend. After a thorough cleansing of his place, Spock had waited on his couch and felt a pleasant sort of buzz. It wasn't very often that he got excited, really, so he let himself savor the feeling.
When he heard the knock, he headed to the door and let Uhura in, greeting her with a warmth he reserved for people he was close to. After a brief moment of hesitance, he reached out for a hug that wasn't entirely comfortable, but wasn't unpleasant. Awkwardness, thy name was Spock.
"Hi," he said quickly, backing up to give her space while trying not to flinch.
