Status: Complete
Billy and Barbara had just finished dinner and were now walking along the sidewalk back to their hotel. Barbara had managed to secure them adjoining rooms so they didn’t need to stand in the hallway waiting for each other, it had seemed sensible at the time.
“So I’ve told you all about my incredibly boring day of meetings, what did you get up to while I abandoned you?” she asked smiling, she had managed to secure tomorrow off so she could spend all day with him but she wanted to know what he’d done before planning anything.
“Well, I explored the hotel, walked around the nearby blocked, enjoyed lunch at a sidewalk cafe, checked out some museums, and then headed back here so I could haunt your last meeting’s door and take you to dinner. Mostly a quiet day, and a relaxing one, but it was missing the best part, you.”
“I thought you were very prompt when my meeting ended” Barbara told him blushing a little, “I am sorry I was busy for most of the day but tomorrow I’m all yours” she promised. She was glad he seemed to have had a good day though, she really had felt bad when she realised her day would be quite full.
“Hey, I knew you would be busy most of the time when I came.” He smiled softly and squeezed one of her hands. “I know you are an important and busy person, Barbara. I’ll take what I can get.” He nodded.
He smiled softly. “Tomorrow. I have ideas.” He walked with her, bouncing.
She squeezed his hand in return, “I know I was just hoping I’d be able to show you around a little more” she smiled, “Thank you Billy”
She grinned at his bounce before asking curiously, “Care to share these ideas?”
“Well, to start with, there is a little cafe down the street that will be perfect for breakfast, and just around the corner from there, there is a day spa, with co-ed massages.” He waggled his eyebrows at her.
Barbara giggled, “Sounds like you really do have it all planned and I have no complaints about those plans” she informed him.
“Good.” Billy smiled softly. The hotel loomed ahead. “I look forward to resting awhile and reading with you, before bed.” Reading with her was the best.
“I’ve been looking forward to that all day” she admitted, it was the best way to relax she’d found and Billy’s company made it all the better. “Give me ten minutes to shower and change then come through?” she suggested as they entered the hotel.
“Sounds good to me.” He headed for their rooms with her, casually walking together, relaxed after dinner. At the suites, they parted, and he did the necessary, changing into a robe and underwear. When it seemed time, he started through the connecting door.
Only to find himself face to face with Barbara, who was as naked as could be, and right in front of him. Before he could stop, he ran into her, and they tumbled to the floor, him ending up on the bottom.
Barbara had taken a couple of minutes longer in the shower than planned which wouldn’t have been a problem except she’d left her clean underwear and clothes on her bed, sticking her head out of the door she checked Billy hadn’t arrived yet before crossing the room swiftly.
That, of course, was when he walked in and their momentum caused them to crash into each other, landing rather intimately. Barbara tried to scramble off him but in her panic only made things worse before she forced herself to calm down and untangle them so she could reach her robe.
Billy froze, his face somewhere very intimate, his mouth having been open. He swallowed, and then pulled his head back as much as he could, rather glad he was wearing underwear. He really, really wished he was eighteen now, damn it. He stayed still as Barbara untangled from him, and he did not look away as he saw her in the altogether, memorizing every detail. Wow. When she was up, he stood, and when she was in her robe, he nodded, letting out a breath. “Are you okay?” He started to reach out a hand to touch her shoulder.
Once Barbara had her robe on she wrapped her arms around herself, her brain running a thousand miles a minute. Replaying what had happened and how inappropriate it all was, really she shouldn’t have even invited him to LA, what was she doing. He was seventeen for gods sake? What did that make her?
When his hand touched her arm she jumped and focused on him, “Oh god Billy, I’m so sorry, that was highly inappropriate. Really I can’t apologise enough. I’m sorry”
Billy gently hugged her. “Barbara. please. Accidents happen. You didn’t do anything wrong. Heck, I’m practically an emancipated adult right now. Stop acting like I’m a kid. I know, there is a law,. and it’s between us… but, well, I started asking my parents about it and their response was along the lines of asking me when it took me this long. “I’m not a kid, and what just happened was an accident, and it’s not your fault.”
“Billy” she said after taking a few calming breaths, his telling her off in a manner had brought her down from the irrational edge she had began reaching. “I’m sorry, I do treat you as a child but it’s because I have to. I have to remember that you’re still young. Because if I don’t I fear I’m going to give in to my feelings for you and I can’t do that. If anybody found out...” well they both knew what would happen. “But you’re right, it was an accident so all we can do is try and forget it happened and continue with our evening”
Billy nodded. “I’ll go get dressed the rest of the rest of the way, rather than stay this way. Then we can read and have a good night.”
She wanted to tell him he didn't have to but it was a better idea if he did so she nodded, "Thank you Billy" she said kissing him on the cheek quickly before retrieving her pajamas and moving towards the bathroom.
Once he was dressed, he came back, pausing to knock, and he stepped in once he had her okay. He brought milk and cookies with him and hoped for a good night.
Barbara had dressed in her pajamas fairly quickly and put her robe on over them and was waiting on the sofa which was in the suite, “Cookies and milk, perfect” she smiled as she spoke, he’d obviously thought ahead.
Billy hugged her and then settled with his book, a mug of milk, and a cookie, and nodded. This was the best part of the day, no matter what else happened.
