Yes Lucas, I understand.
The cold water dripping off his face did much to pull him out of his madness. He got changed quickly, glancing at the clock every few seconds as if his deadline would be up too soon before he could get out of the house. He picked up the phone, the wallet and the keys on the way out.
Brandon was pacing a few steps left and right whilst waiting for the elevator. It finally came, but Brandon went back inside his apartment and nearly missed it. He ran back to get the teddy bear Lucas had given to him for his birthday, and only just caught the elevator with his arm nearly getting crushed by the doors.
He said nothing between telling the taxi driver Lucas' address and 'keep the change' as he climbed out of the vehicle. The tatty teddy was clutched firmly in his hand.
It was ten to the hour when he knocked at Lucas' door, a lost boy who had run out of steam and out of words to say when Lucas had opened it, and went straight for the bedroom he had sworn never to want to be in.
On the hour itself, Brandon had his arms wrapped around his shins, rocking silently in the bed, squeezing the teddy's stomach with his hands. The smell of coffee and pancakes teased his nostrils and something hot and uncomfortable prickled at his eyes.
