The new house was seriously the most fabulous thing that Jillian had ever seen in her life. It was a mansion with a huge pool area and a great view, but with enough trees and gardened areas to give people a sense of privacy. Jillian loved it, but she was actually more looking forward to meeting up with Draco!
She was waiting on the front steps for him to pull up, texting away furiously and uploading pictures she’d taken to facebook and twitter. She hadn’t seen Draco in a while and she was antsy, so the busy work was mostly done to keep her from going insane.
Draco was looking forward to catching up with Jillian, it had been ages since he had seen her and then it had been with his mother.
He pulled up outside of the address he'd been given and saw Jillian waiting. Beeping the horn he grinned as he stopped and waved.
They'd rarely gotten a moment to just chat by themselves, it was true! Jillian jumped up from the steps and bounced down them in twos then ran over to his car, "Hey you! Long time no see!"
She got in the car and gave him a hug before sitting properly and buckling up.
“Hey” he said hugging her back then waiting for her to strap in before heading to park the car nearby so they could walk along the beach to one of his most recommended coffee shops. “How are you Jilly? House good?”
"Gosh, yes! A little too good, I think... I had to pinch myself when I walked through the front doors. I feel like I'm incredibly blessed right now, but I'm glad that my parents are joining me there. It'd be so lonely otherwise." Jillian bounced in her seat a bit and then grinned at Draco, "But you're super blessed, too! I'm so glad that we've got time for this. I want to hear all about everything!"
"Sounds like a perfect house to me then," he grinned, "I'm sure you'd get used to it even if you didn't have your parents there. Pansy and I quite enjoyed the freedom, and Zuko and I definitely prefer it now."
He pulled into a free space and turned off the engine, "Lets take a wander and I can tell you whatever you want to know." he told her.
"I've got so many questions, I'm not even sure where to start..." Jillian had to start making a list in her head, in fact, which she did as she unbuckled and got out of the car. Being this close to the ocean was just amazing, and taking a walk on a nice day like this sounded like an excellent plan.
"It's a gorgeous day for this, isn't it?"
“Perfect” Draco agreed as he led the way along the promenade next to the beach and ocean, “You’ve picked a great place to move to. Beach right on your doorstep and you should catch most of the beautiful weather. Pretty good place for writing inspiration too.”
"Everyone seems to write songs about whatever boyfriend they just broke up with and how unfair and sad love is," Jillian replied, with a pout and a bit of a sigh. She was known for a few good love songs, herself, but she wanted to do more, "I want to include a few songs on the new album that are about something more, you know?"
She wrinkled her nose, "But enough about that, let's talk about you! Weddings and husbands! I'm not sure I even knew you liked men, but I guess that was public knowledge. Oh don't worry, I'm happy for you! But tell me more about him!"
“I absolutely know,” Draco nodded, “Music can have substance and still be great.”
He chuckled, “It wasn’t public knowledge,” he told her, “I didn’t hide it exactly but I didn’t advertise it either. I wasn’t expecting it when I met Zuko but there was something about him. He’s wonderful. Brave, smart, gorgeous.” A soft smile played across his lips as it always did when he thought about his husband.
Jillian grinned at him, "Do you have a picture? Of course you have a picture. I want to see!"
She wondered idly how the mega-super-christian empire had taken it when Draco had married this 'Zuko' person, but she thought that was a little too personal a question to just go asking. She personally had never thought gay people were 'wrong with God', but her parents still did.
“Of course I do” Draco admitted with a smile, pulling his wallet from his pocket to take out the picture of Zuko he had in there and handed it over to her.
Had she asked he’d have told her, unlike his family Draco was pretty open about most things. The family hadn’t been happy, of course, but he’d seen how denying who you are had affected his Aunt Bella so he’d decided that they didn’t get to control him. His mother had supported him and in reality he’d not come across any issues. He supposed it helped that he was already kind of estranged from the other family members.
It also helped that the music business was getting a little more progressive when it came to announcements like that, though Jillian was certain that if she discovered she liked girls it'd be a huge scandal.
She looked the picture over, and squeed a bit, "Oh he really is gorgeous, isn't he? And he ... used to be your agent or something? That's how you two met, wasn't it? I really admire your courage, you know. I mean... a lot of people are too scared about what'll happen if they aren't perfect for the cameras, you know?"
It definitely did help that the majority of his fans were young and cared less about his sexuality than they did his music. He was incredibly lucky.
“Oh no, he’s my agent now. We met randomly, quite by accident. I was practising in a local park and he happened to wander over, then the next time we met we built a snow turtle together and the rest is history” he smiled, “Thank you Jilly but it’s not courage. I just don’t see why the world shouldn’t see the man who makes me so happy”
"Snow turtles, eee. That sounds adorable," Jillian giggled a bit, but her face went more serious afterwards, and she nodded her head, "He really does make you happy, too, I can see it. You've got this special smile, just for him. I hope one day I get to feel that way about someone, you know? You're so lucky, Draco."
“Thanks” Draco replied, “I really am the luckiest guy in the world. But you know I think you’ll find your special someone too. Maybe it’ll be like me and he’ll just turn up one day and you’ll fall hard and fast” he grinned.
"I'm beginning to think I shouldn't rule it out if it's a she, either, though I think my parents would disown me if that happened," Jillian replied, grinning despite the thought how her parents would react. It was a huge deal, since her father was her record label at the moment.
"I just fully believe in being entirely yourself, and if my self falls in love with a girl I think I'd have to accept it. Though I know I like boys, there have been a few really cute ones I've had my eye on. Just, nothing serious. And I don't want to be like those girls that end up having one popular boyfriend after another and are always in the tabloids."
“You know if it came to it they might surprise you,” Draco replied, “I expected my mom to react a lot worse than she did. But your friends would support you I’m sure. Zuko and I would be there for you,” He added smiling before taking her arm and linking it through his own. “You’d never be like those girls, don’t worry about it. You have plenty of time you know, I’m kind of the exception not the rule. Not many people marry so young, not many people are in serious relationships so young.”
"When you say it like that, I believe it," Jillian replied, a bit more seriously than her usual tone. Being a famous singer was awesome and all, but sometimes it was lonely, too.
She wandered along with him a bit, then added, "How's Pansy doing? Do you have other friends in town?"
He squeezed her arm as they walked, he didn’t want her feeling down. She had so much to be excited for, and he was sure that she’d meet the right someone eventually. Fame didn’t always have to be a barrier, but he’d be around to help her see that.
“Pansy is great, she’s living with her boyfriend and works for a private investigator. I’ve got a few friends scattered all over the county,” he told her with a grin, “Most have an interest in music” he admitted, “Though some I know through other circumstances” he wasn’t sure if she knew much about the dreams.
His comfort had put the bounce back into her step, and she was back to grinning at him. She did know a little about the dreams. They were hard to ignore!
"I'm glad she's doing so well! And I definitely need to meet more of your friends. I'm thinking of having a kind of housewarming party when we get moved in, and you and yours are very welcome, of course! Even the ones that aren't into music. What kind of other circumstances?"
“She’s great, you should meet her for coffee or something. I’m sure she’d love to catch up with you.” They may not have the shared interest in music that Draco and Jillian had but they’d gotten along the few times they’d met.
“Sounds good. I’ll be sure to bring them along” he promised, “Well, you’ve probably seen people talk about dreams on the net? I’ve met a few people who I know in them. Who I didn’t know before the dreams.”
Jillian nodded and made a mental note to send Pansy a text sometime. Then, she clapped her hands together in front of her face, her eyes filled with a small amount of surprise, "Oh wow, really? I know Zelda got some pointy ears, and then there's the shimmery sparkly milk that Link makes, but you've really met people, here that you knew in the dreams? Are you... like... sharing them? Are you all dreaming the same thing?"
Draco nodded, “We’re all dreaming the same thing. We go to this magic school called Hogwarts in England” he told her before drawing his wand from his back pocket. “And that’s not all” He motioned for her to stop for a moment and placed her bag on the ground in front of them before saying the spell to levitate it, “Ears and milk aren’t the only things that bleed over from the dreams” he grinned.
Woah. Jillian stared at her purse, watching it hover in the air, then stared at Draco and his wand, then looked back at her purse, and pointed at it, "You've got magic? That's what that is, right, magic? That you learned at the... magic school, in your... dreams?"
This was too much. She was so super jealous now!
"That's so unfair! I haven't had cool dreams about anything yet, and you've got magic!"
Draco’s smile got wider, “Yeah, I’ve got magic” he replied, “After a dream the wand turned up and when I played around with it I found it actually worked” he told her.
He handed her purse back and put his wand away before throwing an arm around her shoulders, “Don’t worry, you’ll be dreaming in no time. And I am sure they will be just as awesome as mine”
"I hope so! Maybe I'll get something amazing like... fairy wings. Fairy wings would be so cute. And then I could float around or fly!" Jillian put an arm around Draco's waist to quickly squeeze hug him, then let go, "I think this is the best day ever."
