Billy smiled as he walked along with Ginny. Today’s sessions had been great and he was constantly impressed with how Ginny worked and her skills. He just was glad to be a part of this before it all ended, and before the chance went away. And to have met her. She was an awesome person, really, and someone he admired. And she was hot, too, even. He liked another woman, but that didn’t mean he didn’t think Ginny was hot. And he knew, being nly 17, he’d never be able to have either, so. yes
“How are you doing?” They were headed toward the elevator, since it was quitting time and definitely time to get out of the place.
Ginny gave him a pleasant smile as she slung her bag carelessly over her shoulder. Even though she was glad the work day was over there was a tinge of sadness to it. Pretty soon days like this would be over and they would all, if they were lucky, be onto other projects. It made her sad because she loved each and every one of the people she worked with Billy included. If she could she would have gladly done another round with the current crew.
“I am doing pretty good actually, yourself?” She asked him as she pushed the elevator button with her finger. “Ready to go home and relax after I cook dinner.”
“Me too. Headed home to cook, then see a friend. And do so with my feet up if possible.” He grinned. He loved his job, but some days like today involved a lot of running around. He had enjoyed knowing Ginny and the others and the oncoming end of shooting felt sad. Waiting at the elevator with her, he smiled. “You looked good out there today.”
“I hope you can do that. Relaxing at my house is by definition a day in which there is only a little bit of my brothers around creating havoc,” she said with a laugh knowing that at any given time one of her six brothers, especially Ron, was likely to be around. “Thanks,” she said brightly with a smile thankful for the compliment. “But really it’s everyone else that makes me look so good. What am I going to do without everyone?”
“You use your winning smile and ways to make a new team, when you have to.” Billy nodded, warmly admiring her skills. The elevator opened, and he stepped in, holding it for her. “You made this team a team, even if the director is in charge.”
“I’ll do my best,” she said with an easy laugh. Making friends and connections had never really been hard for her and Ginny was glad for that. She seen how hard it was for her brother Percy who wasn’t exactly a people person and she was glad it was one skill she had. “Who knows maybe we’ll work together again. Never know right?” She said with another smile as she stepped into the elevator.
The elevator slowly started down, and he nodded and started to speak,. And then there was a jolt, a muffled sound of something making an almost explosion sound, and the lights went out as the elevator stopped with a sudden jerk. Billy found himself flung toward her and toward the floor and did his best to try to reach out and catch her if she was similarly flung.
“Holy Moley!”
"Bloody hell," Ginny cursed as she felt the elevator jerk before coming to an abrupt stop flinging her across the tiny space. Normally she wouldn't use that kind of language, at least not in the company of others, but the situation warranted it. "It's like being trapped in my worse nightmare," she joked half-hearted.
“Sorry.” He knew he had no reason to apologize. it was sheer instinct. He moved carefully along the wall and felt the emergency button, and pressed it, but nothing happened. “Must be a full out blackout.”
He could get them out if he used his powers, but he didn’t just do that around everyone, even a Valar person. Darn it!
"No reason for you to be sorry," Ginny said honestly as she sank to the floor and made herself comfortable. She figured it would be a little while before anyone could come and get them. "You're not claustrophobic are you?"
“Not at all. I dislike enclosed places. but no claustrophobia. “ He grinned over at her in the near darkness. “How about you?”
He settled down too.Next to her.
“Nope, not going to freak out on you promise.” Ginny said with a shrug of her shoulders. “Doesn’t really bother me. I mean being the tiniest my brothers always made me crawl into small places to get things or if we were playing hiding go seek or something.” It wasn’t her ideal place to be but it wasn’t the scariest to her either.
Billy nodded, then grinned at her. “Good. And I’ll bet. I was always the one climbing the trees because I was small.” He grinned wider. “At least we’re not alone.” If he had to be stuck somewhere, being stuck with his pretty and nice co worker wasn’t the worst. He thumbed out his cell, but as usual in the elevator, the signal was thready and almost nonexistent.
"See, that falls under the category of the burden of being the tiniest," she joked hoping to keep the situation light. Like Billy, Ginny was relieved to not be there alone. Then she might have freaked out.
"I mean these things just don't fall right?" Because who hadn't had one of those nightmares before.
Billy laughed and then poked her with one short arm. “Nope. Earthquakes might change that, but we would have felt that. This is just a power failure, or the OC being weird again.” He smiled at her in the dimness.
“So, how is your family doing?” Changing the subject? Why yes!
"Why that is such a comforting thought considering we live in earthquake capital of the world," Ginny joked with a laugh. Then again if it came to that she did have her magic though she wasn't sure she knew enough to be useful.
Ginny shrugged. "Pretty good. The usual. No major melt downs or revelations. How about yours?"
Billy chuckled, too. “Because… it’s still unlikely? Maybe?” He didn’t know, but he was glad to laugh. And hugged her, hoping they could ignore the silly for awhile.
“Good. They are all moving forward. Most of my siblings are older and working in the family business a lot. There is a major air show over in Germany, and the whole lot are going. I’m hoping that they have fun. I won’t be going because I love my work and am starting school soon, and also, well, they don’t need me.” He nodded.
Ginny returned his hug happy to receive the gesture. It was comforting considering their circumstances and the fact that no one knew they were there. She hoped it wouldn't be an overnight experience.
"It would still be neat to go though!" To her any form of travel was exciting and worth the effort but she understood the school thing even if it wasn't in the cards for her. "My brother Bill is in Egypt you know. Says he's working on a big dig or what not but I think it was just cold feet. Really big case the kind that makes you run four thousand miles away from the person you were supposed to marry."
Billy nodded. “Those are some very cold feet!.” He smiled sadly. “I hope things get better for him and that his dig goes well!” He smiled to her then. “I might like to go, if I felt like it would be interesting, but I would be working and since they don’t really need me, I am sitting it out.”
Then he smiled again. “What do you do when not acting and playing superhero?” He spoke, grinning, referring to the time they had both had to stop a robbery.
"That's Bill, he will be wandering the world for a long time. I am surprised he stayed in a committed relationship for nearly a year." Ginny said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Too bad you can't go and wander off and find something interesting to do."
"Well, organize community events and charity work and hang out with my brothers... So I guess a lot of stuff!" Ginny told him with a grin. "I like play superhero though."
“Eh, its okay,. I like helping people and I do that here.” he nodded. She was just one of the people he knew and tried to help. He smiled at her and then chuckled. “You make a good one.”
"Maybe I will get to play one in a movie or something," she said with a laugh. "Or we can have another adventure and do some real life stuff if we get out of this elevator before we are gray."
Billy chuckled. “Maybe so. I bet they would leap to cast you as a superhero.”
He really did. She was young, beautiful, and dynamic. And she had the figure for it.
"That would be fun!" Ginny said with a grin imagining the stunts and the other fun things other than the long hours. "Too bad I can't take my crew with me and do a movie. We should have ended the series with a movie."
“True!” Then he chuckled. “Maybe for a reunion!” He smirked as he imagined it. “It would be fun to get everyone back and just go for it.”
"I say yes." Who cared if it was successful or not? It would just be fun just to do. "We can start by doing my charity event if you would like. It would be a blast."
Billy nodded. “Okay! I’m always up for helping out charity, and having one of my favorite beautiful women around for it helps.” He nodded.
"You're such a charmer," she told him with a grin happy for his company. "Too bad we don't have some popcorn or something," again another joke.
Billy chuckled and stuck his tongue out at her. “Just telling it how it is. “ then he grinned and fished in his backpack and opened up his cooler and handed over a Lindt Chocolate truffle and unwrapped one for himself. “It’s not popcorn, but mom sent me a bunch of stuff recently, and I bring them here to work for lunch.”
"You're hired," Ginny said with a laugh as she popped the truffle into her mouth. Any guy that had chocolate was at the top of her list. "I will make you my co-star on everything if you always have chocolate."
Billy blushed. “No acting for me, Ginny, thanks. But I’ll handle your backstage anytime.” Then he facepalmed and blushed as he realized how that sounded. “er, that is…”
Ginny couldn’t help but laugh. Having six older brothers she had heard far worse and was guilty of a few comments of her own here and there. “I’ll keep that in mind,” she told him with a wink clearly joking and making light of the situation. “And when I get stuck in an elevator, right?”
Billy laughed, glad she hadn’t gotten mad, and he smirked back, joining in. “Especially then. It’s a very nice backstage, after all.” He was appreciative of her humor, and her looks, both.
Ginny have him a smile. “So, what do you think of all the crazy stuff happening around here as of late?” She asked for something to talk about. It wasn’t like there was ever a week where there wasn’t something to talk about that was happening that was odd. Her magic was almost normal by the standards going around.
“Well, it was odd being bodyswapped for awhile, and odd with the craziness that has been happening all around recently.” He smiled. “The last six months have been one thing after another and… well, that’s not a bad thing.” He hmmed. “I don’t like when people are hurt, but otherwise, a little wildness is fun.”
“What did that feel like? Having someone else’s body?” Ginny always thought it was a bit of a trite trick used to make movies interested but when it came down to it she thought it would perhaps be a little odd. Then again, she had been lucky not to be caught up in that one for once. She didn’t really want to share her body with anyone else if that was even the right words to use. “I agree. I like a little chaos in my life.”
"It was weird. And very... enlightening." He blushed red and nodded. "Not terrible, but startling. I'd forget for.a moment, then be reminded."
Ginny nodded figuring that was the case. “I would think it would be strange. I can’t even imagine being anyone but me,” but then again they hadn’t actually changed who they were. It gave her a headache to think about. “Wonder what messed up magic or whatever caused that. What is it about this place? It’s like we’ve stepped into the bloody Bermuda Triangle or something.”
“It feels like my dreams a lot. My dream world is like this.’ He nodded.
“Lucky us,” Ginny said with a nod meaning it but in sarcasm and in sincerity. “Lucky for you, this dream world involves being in an elevator. Though I don’t know much magic I can at least get us some more light.”
“More light is good. At least then i can see the best sight around.“ He grinned., teasing a little.
“Charming aren’t you,” she said with a laugh as she reached into her bag and dug around searching for her wand. As of late she had gotten into the habit of carrying it with her wherever she went. With a whispered incantation she brought light to the tiny room. “This has to be the dullest way to get stuck though you have to admit. Unless we’re filming a horror movie or something.”
Billy chuckled. “Nah. Just glad to be with a friend. You are a good person. Ginny.” And right when she said dullest way? That was when the elevator lurched, dropped a few feet, then stopped. Billy yipped, grabbed for Ginny’s arm, and swore in Yiddish.
“Bloody hell,” Ginny swore under her breath as she grabbed onto his arm as well. She felt her stomach drop about a story too in the process. Even after the elevator stopped she sat there still as if bracing for an even bigger drop. “Christ I’m really ready to get out of here now.”
