Elphaba stood at the stove, stirring the spaghetti in the pot and the bolognese she had on the next hob. She hummed along happily to the song she was playing on the cd player. It was Lúthien’s album and she had played at least one song from it everyday, so she pretty much knew it off by heart. She danced over to the cupboard with the condiments in and pulled out the sage, rosemary and salt before dancing back over to the food.
The album was joined by Luthien’s voice as she came down the stairs. She was wearing a thin red dress. It was almost sheer.
Her singing wasn’t a new thing. She hummed or broke into song at a moment’s notice, and the house was often filled with the sound of her voice.
Elphaba grinned as she heard Lúthien singing behind her. She carried on flavouring the food, swaying her hips to the rhythm and joining in to sing a harmony to Lúthien's main line of the song.
“Mm, that smells divine.” She nuzzled Elphaba’s neck from behind, singing the words as she did so. Her hands started to roam as it became clear she was hungry for more than food.
Elphaba smiled happily as she felt Lúthien's hands on her and her body pressed up against her back. "You're going to make me burn dinner," she told her, not stopping her swaying with Elphaba.
“It is worth it, my love.” She kissed Elphie’s shoulder and swayed more, closing her eyes and enjoying her scent. She grinned, feeling like a happy fool. “But I shall let you cook.”
Elphaba quickly turned off all the hobs and dropped the spoons into the pots and turned to pull Lúthien close and place a lingering kiss on her lips. "There's a reason we have a microwave my love," she muttered against her lips, barely taking the room to speak the words before kissing her again.
Luthien laughed into the kiss, suddenly giddy and feeling rather school-girlish. She didn’t know how Elphaba did it, but she didn’t question it. She went with the flow. “Mm.. Smart girl.”
"Can be," Elphaba joked, pressing a series of quick, loving kisses to her lips as she wrapped her arms around Lúthien's waist, sliding a hand up the elegant curve of her back and the other down to give her ass a firm.squeeze.
Eyes fluttering shut, Luthien wondered what it would be like to spend the rest of her life with this woman - well, the rest of Elphaba’s life. She wasn’t sure how she’d deal with immortality. So she put it out of her mind. “Nnmm...your cooking is…” Stirring itself. Luthien blinked, distracted on one hand by Elphie’s hands and the other by self-stirring spoons.
"Not what I'm thinking about right now," Elphaba grinned at Lúthien and started to kiss down her neck, hands pulling her closer then walking her backwards until she was pressed against the centre island of the kitchen.
“Spoons,” Luthien murmured, like it was very important she get that out, but then she was distracted, fingers tangling in Elphie’s hair and other hand finding it’s way into her shirt.
Elphaba pulled away to give her a funny look at that. "Spoons?"
She pulled her back. “Later, darlin, let the spoons stir themselves.”
Elphaba laughed as Lúthien kissed her then pulled away again. "What are you talking about?" She asked before receiving another kiss. "Are you feeling ok?"
With a sigh, Luthien turned Elphie around to look at the stove. She took the opportunity to caress at her arms and stomach and snuggle her from behind. Chin on Elphie’s shoulder, she said, “That.”
"Wha..." Elphaba let herself be turned to look at the stove. "What the hell? Who's doing that?" she asked absently, looking up to see if there was anyone above using strings on them or something.
“That is not the sort of magic I am capable of,” Luthien pointed out gently.
"But I...I only have magic in my dreams..." Elphaba told her, watching the spoons moving on their own. "And I thought I was crazy for having them...I mean, I was green for crying out loud!" She turned to Lúthien as she pointed that out.
Luthien simply turned her head to display one pointed ear. “My voice has Power now, if I’m not careful. You can do magic, that is wonderful!”
“I can do magic?” Elphaba repeated dumbly, shocked by the recent manifestation. “But I’m...me...why would anyone let me have magic?”
“Because you’re a good person.” Luthien sat Elphaba down and kneeled next to her.
"I don't understand," Elphaba muttered. "I'm not even thinking about...spoons or stirring..." she waved at the moving cutlery, then dropped her hand to absently stroke through Lúthien's hair.
“I’m not sure how it works, really. Maybe it was a subconcious thing? Or perhaps it just happened that way.” she closed her eyes and leaned into the hair petting.
"Could you...could you teach me to... y'know...control it?" Elphaba asked, stroking her hair back and gently tilting her head back to look at her.
“Control it? I wouldn’t know where to begin!” Luthien puffed out her lower lip and thought about it a moment longer. “But perhaps..we can treat it like music. The same sort of thing I do daily for my voice?”
"Like warm ups you mean?" Elphaba asked, gently guiding Lúthien around to kneel in front of her and stroke her hair back from her face..
“Yes. And I think if you can bring it from your heart, you can control it better. My magic comes from there. There are things I can do. Not big displays. Subtle things, like mask my presence or cloak myself. Perhaps it is the same?”
Elphaba smiled down at Lúthien as she continued to stroke her hair back. “You’re amazing,” she told him, grinning and leaning down to kiss her.
“I love you.” Luthien took Elphie’s other hand and threaded her fingers together. She repeated, “I love you.”
“And I love you,” Elphaba smiled into the next kiss, tangling her fingers in her hair and deepening the kiss.
Luthien groaned, forgetting about food or magic in the light of a different kind of magic. "You make the sun rise for me.”
Elphaba kissed her fiercely, pulling her up to sit on her lap.
Luthien plunked herself down, returning the kiss with equal fervor. For all her strength and willpower, she preferred being the “lady” in a relationship.
Elphaba smiled against her lips as they kissed, holding her tightly against her. As the kiss deepened, she slowly ran her hands up Lúthien’s back and back down to her hips.
The groan turned to a whimper. Luthien murmured something in elvish against Elphie’s lips, before kissing harder, with more need than before. She would accept mortality for Elphaba. She didn’t want to live forever, if forever was without her.
Elphaba heard the spoons clatter as they fell against the side of the bowls behind Lúthien. Hearing her speak in Elvish was a remarkable turn on and Elphaba slid a hand behind her neck to hold her lips on hers. She groaned against her mouth and raked her nails lightly down Lúthien's thigh.
The thought of dinner was lost to Luthien. She cupped Elphaba’s face, the nails on her other hand digging into the woman’s shoulder. She found that she really liked when Elphaba was aggressive like this. “Eru…” She gasped.
Elphaba frowned as she heard what sounded like a name coming from Lúthien’s lips in between kissing her. Pulling away, she couldn’t help but ask, “Who’s Eru?”
“Nn…?” Luthien blinked her eyes open, skin flushed and mouth parted. “..oh. He is sort of the god of my world. It slipped out instead of, well. God.”
Elphaba stared up at her open-mouthed for a second or two before breaking into a grin. She laughed and pulled Lúthien back down for a deep kiss, tongue tangling with hers as she pulled her closer.
“I am glad you’re-mmph!” She laughed into the kiss and then wrapped her arms around Elphaba. She could feel their souls licking at each other like tongues of flame, and it made her heart swell.
Elphaba kissed her fiercely, encouraging Lúthien to straddle her. She ran her hands up her legs and pulling her dress up as she did, not stopping until she had peeled the material from her girlfriend’s body.
“Elpha…” The name turned into a plea, and Luthien tried to find any skin she could to caress. She held back, like she always did, the fullness of the fire within her, not wanting to consume her lover. Not yet, anyway. An old fashioned part of Luthien wanted a genuine wedding before she married her soul.
Though if she were honest with herself, part of her had already bonded to Elphaba, and the rest of her was eager to finish the job.
Sensing that something was wrong with Lúthien, she gentled the kiss and pulled back, pushing Lúthien’s hair back from her face. “Hey, hey, what’s wrong?”
Luthien swallowed, and shook her head. “Just resisting the urge to claim all of you again.”
“Lúthien…” Elphaba looked at her doubtfully, not completely believing what she’d said.
“It’s harder and harder to hold back the fire. I want our souls to be one.” She smiled, nervously. “I think they are in part, already. That one time, when I really let go. I just fear it’s not what you want.”
“I know what you mean,” Elphaba kissed her gently, stroking her thumb against Lúthien’s cheek as she cupped her cheek. “Let me tell you something though, I never would have dreamed I would have ended up here in a million years before I met you,” she smiled up at her. “I have done things I never thought possible, and all this time I think I’ve been holding back,” she told her resting her forehead on Lúthien’s. “Fiyero is just a dream, and while it is very real and...almost visceral for me,” she pulled back to make sure they were looking into each other’s eyes. “He’s a fantasy right now, he’s not real and he’s been stopping me from living. If he comes into my life then he comes into my life and we’ll deal with that,” she shrugged and grinned up at Lúthien. “I love you and I want to make a life with you...if you want that too?” she asked, unsure of herself again.
“And we’ll deal with Beren if he comes as well,” Luthien breathed, love and relief filling her chest. Guilt and regret too, but that couldn’t be helped. “I want that, Elphie. I want to make a life with you, in this world and whatever world comes after.”
Elphaba grinned up at her happily, drawing her close and kissing her slowly. “Y’know, we’ve just had one of the most serious conversations of our lives and you sat naked in my lap,” she laughed.
“I hadn’t noticed,” Luthien said. She stroked Elphie’s cheek. She’d move mountains for this woman. She’d sculpt one out of clay if she had to.
“So,” Elphaba looked down, feeling a lush colour her cheeks as she spoke. “In the spirit of how you make me do things I’ve…never thought I’d do,” she huffed a silent laugh. “Would you…” she quirked a smiled as she spoke nervously. “Would you consider ma...marrying me?”
The Elf blinked her eyes, surprise, terror and joy reflecting in them. Surprise that it had even happened, terror that it was happening, and joy that it was going to happen. She practically sang out the words. “I would! Gods, I would.”
Elphaba let out a laugh of relief and squeezed Lúthien’s waist as she did. “I love you!” she told her, tears starting to well in her eyes as she watched Lúthien’s reaction. “I uh...I didn’t really plan this, so I don’t have a ring or anything, but you…” she laughed again. “You make me...impulsive,” she shrugged.
“I love you too.” She stroked Elphie’s cheek, and grinned. “We can ring shop together. Price doesn’t matter as long as the ring is from the heart.”
Elphaba grinned at her, dropping her eyes to Lúthien’s beautiful lips. “I can’t wait to go ring shopping with you,” she shook her head slightly, still not quite believing she’d been brave enough to do it.
Luthien’s smile was positively radiant, her full lips curling up as she caught where Elphaba was looking. “You are braver and a better person than you think you are.”
Elphaba couldn’t do anything else but kiss her. She was just too beautiful.
Tears streamed down Luthien’s face as her fiance kissed her. She didn’t have the words either. She would just have to speak with actions.
