There was nothing Elena wanted more than a hug from her parents right now, but she made do leaning into Stiles' hand and taking deep breaths. It was up to her to take care of her family now, so she had to be strong. She couldn't go to pieces just because Jeremy had ruined the first good day she'd had in two weeks.
"Oh, Stiles, I know you would have," she said with a shaky smile. Oh, hell, one moment of weakness couldn't hurt, right? Elena reached out and took Stiles' arm in her hand, pulling him closer until she could hug him lightly. "You're a great friend. Thank you for telling me."
She pulled away after a moment, sighing. "No, you should stay here. I couldn't drag you away from the fun just because Jeremy did something stupid."
