Obi-Wan is aging surprisingly well (obi1) wrote in valarlogs,
Removing the ice bag showed the beginnings of what would become a quintessential black eye. Obi-Wan sat up straight and allowed Loras the room he needed to work. His hardened features slowly began to soften around the edges.
"Like I was just punched in the face," he said, not completely without a self-deprecating smile. He wasn't, however, referring simply to the developing shiner.
And then he returned to waiting silently while Loras worked. He allowed him to get as close as he needed, without recoiling, flinching only when the pain spiked. This wasn't the first time he had been patched up on the side of a boxing ring, himself.
For the first time, Obi-Wan took in the finer details of Loras's demeanor. Without it encroaching attraction, he had to admit that the younger man had a unquestionable beauty to him. It was an ethereal look--otherworldly, perhaps. And they were so close, that Obi-Wan wouldn't help but feel something close to envy over the man's youth.
"I'll bet you surprise a lot of people, in your dreams. I'll bet they underestimate you." He let it hang in the air for a moment. "I think I did, as well. I'm sorry about that."
