Obi-Wan is aging surprisingly well (obi1) wrote in valarlogs,
Funny Loras should think so highly of him, because Obi-Wan felt greatly outmatched. At least, there was a distinct separation between his the motions of his mind and those of his body. It was like a clear glass wall.
He deflected and stuck without knowing how or why at times, only realizing what he'd done the second afterward. And though he physically met Loras's energy, his mind seemed to lag. No. Not lag. Detatch, pull away from the other half like velcro. Obi-Wan was watching watch himself, as though he was watching himself from the corner of the room. And yet, his focus never wavered. How was that?
When Loras swept the floor, Obi-Wan evaded. He spun the bo around him, creating a temporary shield, while he caught his breath. His T-shirt was stained in every corner with sweat. "Give me a second. I'm an old man, remember?" But was the grin that played upon his face a signal that he was about to strike. Obi-Wan considered it a fair warning just before his feet dashed across the floor. Then he was in the air, and the bo was coming down quickly as he landed.
