"The one and only," he said, cheerfully. And Robert certainly didn't mind being looked at. He preened a bit under it, really, following James further out into the water.
"I think it's lovely. Wakes you up. But salt water's terrible on my skin."
Robert flashed James a pleased look. He knew that he, himself, wasn't a conventionally good looking sort. On the shorter side, very thin, a mop of hair and big eyes that had once been described as like a baby deer's. But Robert loved it. He wore confidence like a second skin, and it showed.
