"They're not the real Kyoshi warriors!"
Really, the deception hadn't lasted long enough for Azula's taste, but it is what it is, and things were moving along according to her plan.
"Sorry to disapoint you." That was Mai, moving into combat with fluid, graceful ease.
Keep them distracted. Azula moved towards the Earth King as Ty Lee dueled with Sokka. She'd give the Water Tribe Clown his due, if Ty Lee hadn't been so obviously playing with him. She felt a surge of jealousy, and used that to fuel a blue flame as she grabbed the King, "This fight is over."
And like that, it was. Ty Lee disabled Toph and Sokka.
"Get them all out of my sight."
She watched them get dragged away, as Long Feng and the other members of the Dai Li entered the throne room. The older man stopped before her, and gave her a smile, "Now comes the part where I double cross you. Dai Li, arrest the fire nation princess!"
There's a moment where nothing happens, and no one responds. Sweat pops onto the man's brow, "I said, arrest her! What is wrong with you!"
Azula's voice, while cold, carries an amused, knowing edge to it, "It's because they haven't made up their minds. They're waiting to see how this is going to end."
"What are you talking about?"
The fire princess smirked, and gestured with her hands, "I can see your whole history in your eyes."
She relished the panic that floated in those dark irises, the sweat that began to drip down his neck. She remained cool, and collected, "You were born with nothing, so you had to struggle, and connive and claw your way to power. But true power, the divine right to rule, is something you're born with."
Azula turned, pointing at the Earth King's throne, "The fact is, they don't know which of us is going to be sitting on that throne, and which of us is going to be bowing down."
Turning again, she leveled her gaze at Long Feng's, and held his eyes with hers, "But I know, and you know."
Sitting on the throne, Azula asked, "Well?"
Long Feng hesitated a long moment. But he hadn't gotten where he has today without a strong survival instinct. He walked forward, and knelt, "You've beaten me."
"Don't flatter yourself, you were never even a player."
Azula woke that morning, in a very good mood.
