WHO: M&M! (Leave it to Mavis to have a candy-related ship-name)
WHAT: Snuggling & hiding from the world
WHEN: Bodyswap
WHERE: Mavy's place
WARNINGS: brief mention of anatomical awkwardness of the PG variety
Mavis was doing okay with Mitchell’s body. He was only minimally photosensitive compared to her, which meant she could actually enjoy the sunshine a bit, as long as she protected her eyes. She could leave the curtains open all day long. Wear short sleeves.
But it wasn’t as much fun when Match didn’t feel like going out in public. So inside they stayed, curled up in a patch of sunshine, away from prying eyes. The shrunken head was hung on the front door, to ward off Alex and Lorna, should they happen to drop by. But she figured they were both busy anyway.
Match smiled softly at her. “I’m sorry.” He knew she would rather be out enjoying sunshine and he felt like a wretch, keeping her from doing so. He just felt silly and sort of weirded out and okay, freaked out a lot about this.
“It’s all right, love,” she said, petting his beautiful--borrowed--hair. “I’d rather try and help you feel as comfortable as possible. I’m just happy I can have the windows open.”
He snuggled close, ignoring her borrowed body, and hugging her. It weirded him out, but he could deal with it, to be close to her. “Thank you. I’m sorry still, but thank you. You make being like this a lot better.”
“I know this isn’t really the kind of experiment you probably would have liked,” she said, wrapping her arms around him, “But it’s not so bad. We’re still us. We still have our own free will. Nothing has tried to eat us, or blow us up. And I’m not going to run away from you, even if we have to wait a while to get our bodies back.”
Match snuggled her close too, and breathed her strange scent in, but kept in his mind that she is there. “I know. You are amazing. You are the best part of my life.” And he kissed her, strange bodies or no, with that passionate, loving need he showed only her.
Mavis returned the kiss, the line of her body resting beside his; close, but not overbearing. She closed her eyes, and imagined she could see past the outer wrappings to what made Match >Match. And it was good.
He snuggled her closer, just holding her close and ignoring the world, eyes closed as he kissed her again and again. So what if he had a woman’s body and she had a man’s? He still loved her and he still was with her.
