The old school movie of the week was one Lorna adored. Billy had mentioned it to her the previous day, and she hoped to see the kid at the showing. She arrived a little late, but not enough to miss the start of the film. So she slipped into the back, smiling brightly. She had a tab of acid in her purse, because seeing movies while tripping was a lot of fun. It helped her ignore the interruptions of the kids who were dropped off by parents who needed the day off.
She put the tab on her tongue, sitting back to relax.
Billy had arrived, and settled in to see the movie, glancing around to see if Lorna was there. But he had to run to the restroom and when he got back, the pre-movie stuff had started and all was dark, so he sat down behind someone and just relaxed, hoping the movie would be as awesome as he remembered it.
The movie would start just around eleven itself, if he recalled correctly...
Lorna heard someone sit behind her and turned. It was either Billy or a kid who looked a lot like him. She waved, but the movie was starting so they couldn’t talk. It was going to be a fun one, she hoped she could grab him afterward for lunch.
Billy waved back, then smiled. Cool! He watched the pre-movie stuff, and was settling back as the lights seemed to flicker for a moment, then everything was normal again. He had tensed, then relaxed. Heh. okay, flickering lights were funny. He kept watching the movie, which seemed a lot more intense, as time wore on. And brighter! And louder!
Wow!
Lorna smiled as the movie started, but it was. . . not what she was expecting. At first it didn’t seem like anything was awry, but by the halfway point of the movie she was certain she’d grabbed a breathstrip instead of an acid tab. She made a face and reached for her purse. She gasped when she didn’t feel it at her side and looked down.
At her red t-shirt and flat chest, and the empty seat where her purse should be.
She covered her mouth and fled the theater quietly, rushing for the ladies’ room. There were three girls at the mirror already, and they yelled when Lorna ran in. She blinked and went to the mirror. Oh no. This was not right at all.
She raced out before she got in trouble for being in the wrong bathroom and went outside. She dug Billy’s phone out, then realized she didn’t remember Alex’s number off the top of her head. She facepalmed. She’d have to wait for Billy to get out to get her phone.
And Billy was now on acid. She raced back inside, to keep an eye on him. The first trip could be intense and overwhelming, especially if you didn’t know you were on it.
The movie was crazy and by the time the movie was over the halfway point, Billy thought it the greatest thing ever. It wasn’t until he had to go pee, a lot, that he broke out of it, and sighed, rising. Then blinked and looked down.
And swore. In Lorna’s voice. The breasts seemed to be even bigger and whiter than he remembered, and his voice was way louder, and he stumbled toward the door, almost fell over her purse, grabbed it and started weaving his way out, his footsteps feeling unsteady. “Oh man... what the heck?”
This was so not good.
Lorna was quick to get to his side, putting a reassuring hand on his elbow. “You’re okay, Billy. Relax and let me help you.” She felt terrible for what he must be going through.
Hey! There was his body! “Who? Lorna?” He was freaked out and the world felt all spinny and weird, even as he shivered, feeling very good.
And yet confused.
“How--?”
“I don’t know.” She gently led him out of the theater. After a couple quick looks around she led him to an empty theater and settled him in the front row, away from the cameras. “Somehow we switched bodies. Before the movie I took LSD, so your perceptions are going to be weird for a while. The best thing to do right now is relax until it gets out of your system. I’m going to take you to my place, and get some place nice and quiet.” She stroked her hair, because it usually calmed her down.
“LSD? Oh man.... I’ve never done drugs in my life!” He felt wobbly, and the whole world seemed bright and wild and intense. Even where she touched him felt weird. “Okay, okay. Are you sure? My place is closer? Whatever you think is right. Okay.”
He reached out and closed his eyes, and just held to her hands.
She took his hands, holding them tight. “I know where my place is, and I can control it better. Beside, this is kind of a normal Tuesday for us.” She kept his voice low, so he wouldn’t be overwhelmed. “Do you think you can ride behind me on a scooter? I can have Alex pick us up if you’re afraid you’ll fall off.”
“A scooter? Yeah, sure. I think so. I’ve ridden pillion on a bike and a motorcycle. Lead on.” He nodded. “My dreams had stuff like this in them, but not much here, yet.” He smiled as he followed her, kind of wobbly like.
“Alright. I’m going to pull up right outside the exit door. Let me have my phone real quick so I can call my husband and have him set up our extra room.”
“Okay!” He handed the phone over after searching for it for a moment, then nodded. “Just for tonight. I’ll head home when this... this ah, whirly ness is over.” Billy grinned. It was sort of fun, though.
“I’ll take you home when it settles, I promise.” She squeezed her hands and handed Billy his phone. “Uh, this is going to be very fascinating, so enjoy that.” She grabbed her phone and frantically texted Alex as she dashed for the door.
“Thanks!” He nodded and called Barbara as she went, and chuckled, just staying there by the side of the building.
This was crazy!
Lorna pulled up on her scooter, glad that she wasn’t very tall, for once. She went over to help Billy. He could do it himself, but she wanted him to keep calm. The LSD wasn’t the only thing to worry about, her powers were pretty touchy, and keeping him calm was key.
He had just hung up when she pulled up and he put the phone in his pocket as he followed her, moving slowly with her. He just was doing his best to breathe in and out slowly.
“Hey. How’s it going?” Stupid small talk. Ugh.
“I’m okay.” She hugged Billy and got back onto the scooter. Alex had things set up, she just had to get home. “Hang on tight!”
Billy slid on behind her and wrapped his arms around her, feeling weird. “Okay! Go for it!”
Lorna darted off down the road, headed for home. She felt really bad for what Billy must be going through. It was awkward for her, but at least she wasn’t in a completely new mental state on top of being in a new body.
Billy held on tight, trying not to panic or freak out too much as every sound and image seemed more intense. He closed his eyes and tried to shut out the noise. He was not entirely successful. Mannnnn.
Lorna patted her hands at a red light and looked behind her. “You okay back there, Billy?”
He was hyperventilating a little now. “Ah, not, really?” And the bike vibrated, the powers in Lorna’s body starting to affect it.
“I feel really, really weird.”
For a moment, just a moment, he saw something else, a whole world of colors and motion and his stomach turned violently over. “Gonna be sick!”
Lorna eyed the road and went against the light to get Billy into a parking lot and away from moving cars. “Shit, my powers.” She parked and turned to face him, hugging him close. She hoped his body’s aura would block out most of the external world. “Okay, take some nice deep breaths and relax. You’re probably seeing the electromagnetic field around everything around us. It’s freaky, and really vibrant right now, but it won’t hurt you.” She just hoped he didn’t destroy her scooter. That would suck.
Billy struggled to do as she said, fighting panic and the weird sensations and perceptions that seemed to be filling his mind suddenly. “Oh man, oh man...” he groaned He slowly got control of himself as things around them seemed to sway almost. Things like lampposts. But slowly, slowly, the colors went away, and the nausea, too.
“O-okay. What was that again?”
Lorna rubbed her back slowly, waiting until all the metal things around them calmed down to pull back a little. “You’re in my body and you have my powers. I control and perceive magnetic fields. The perception spans more than that, actually. I push myself to see all kinds of things. They act up when I’m stressed or upset, which is why you lost control just then. The LSD isn’t helping.”
“Oh boy. How do I control it?” He didn’t want to wreck things! He was just a nice guy! With tits.
“Stay calm, mostly. If you get upset find a way to deal with it without lashing out. Perceiving the fields comes about a second before the powers affect things, so that’ll be your warning sign.” She sighed and pushed a hand through his much shorter hair.
Billy blew out a long breath and shook his head. “Okay. I can do this. I think.” Her voice sounded louder then softer, and then almost like it was whispered, and seductive, and he shivered as he shook his head. He could recognize the way the drug was fucking with him now.
“I can do this.” He nodded more firmly.
Lorna nodded. “You can do this. I know you can.” She squeezed her own shoulders and took a deep breath. Whew, that was close. “Ready to start off again?”
Billy nodded, shivering a little, then smiled at Lorna. “Thanks. You’re pretty amazing.” And he nodded again. “Yeah. Let’s go.” He was ready.
