Who: Verity and Roland (in Ash's body)
When: Wednesday, August 7, after these texts, after work
Where: Roland's place
What: A visit and delivery of Cereal
Rating/Warning: Low/None (will update if necessary)
Status: In Progress

Verity had a spare box of Lucky Charms in her car. She was pregnant, she was allowed. The only thing that would make it better was some bacon on the side. Which she didn't actually need but always seemed to want. After work was finished, she stopped in the bathroom to check her hair and make-up, something that she did most days, before heading home. Hopefully the twins didn't notice her taking a little extra time to focus on her appearance on the way out the door.

She drove to Roland's place, parked, grabbed the box and headed up to his door. She was a bit worried. He'd said he was younger, but how young was younger? She knocked on the door and waited for him to answer, feeling nervous. It was silly for her to feel nervous, right? Though, after two helpings of his attention, Verity was just a little hooked on him.

If there was anything Roland was nervous about, it was what might be happening in his own body at the moment. After all, the gunslinger's body was now in the hands of a teenage boy. The boy, Ash, was a good little lad, at least. It still kept Roland up to think that something could happen.

Just then, he was pacing, full of energy, now very much craving a cereal he hadn't had since he was ten. He wasn't used to being shorter either. At 6'3 (almost 6'4), Roland had been tall and gangly and now he was short and...well, he was strong, he could give the boy that much. Strong and full of teenage hormones. When he heard the knock, he nearly fell over his own shoelaces as he'd forgotten to tie them. Roland found his balance on the trainers he wore, straightened himself out as much as possible, then answered the door.

"Hey," he said, then added, "Hi" when that sounded ridiculous.

Verity simply stood there for a moment, staring at the boy in front of her. Okay, he was a man. Young still... possibly barely a man, but he was... he was handsome. Young, but handsome. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and hold up the box of cereal. "Roland?"

Of course, Verity was polished as always. Wearing maternity wear made her look more pregnant than she was, but it was also incredibly flattering. Jefferson had done a wonderful job of designing clothes that would both hug her curves and hide her flaws.

"You said younger, I didn't think..." She herself was only in her mid twenties. But still, that felt like a pretty large gap at this age.

He didn't mind that she had a predominant belly, she looked lovely and had a glow about her that made her even more desirable than before. That could have been due to overactive hormones, though. Roland licked his drying lips.

"Aye," he agreed.

"Do you want to come inside?" he asked. She was holding up the cereal box in a way that looked like she was trying to shield herself from him.

Verity gave a little nod, then stepped forward. She wasn't using the box as a shield, more offering it to him. But it could have gone either way. She was super protective of her own body at the moment, understandably so.

She'd been in his home a couple of times before, though it felt different without his body in there. His large form, towering over her. She turned around once she was inside and gave him a once over.

"Are you all right?" She asked, now finding that she was concerned for him. Maybe even more than the other way around.

Roland stopped in the middle of the room and crossed his arms over his thin chest, considering her question for a moment. It was a loaded one, to be sure. He pursed his lips and nodded. "Aye," he answered. "I suppose so. And thee?" One could blame his dreams the previous night for his mind's insistence on speaking the High Speech.

"I'm all right," Verity responded gently. She turned to set the box of cereal down on something. A table, the arm of a sofa, whatever was nearest to where she was standing. Then she brought her attention back to him. His arms were crossed, he seemed closed off. Maybe she should just... drop off the box and go? Did he even want her there?

"I guess I'm really glad that I didn't get hit by this... craziness. I'd be absolutely terrified if someone else was in my body right now." Her hand moved over her tummy, protectively.

The cereal had all been forgotten now. Later, Roland would eat almost the entire box. Ever since he'd gotten this body, he thought it was a bottomless pit. Every bit of junk food he could get his hands on, he did, wondering when the boy would pack on the weight. Young metabolism, Roland had guessed, was a good thing.

As her hand moved, so did Roland, dropping his own arms to come closer. For the moment, he forgot he wasn't in his own body, even though he was looking almost eye to eye with Verity. "There is," he said, gesturing to where her hand laid. "But it's only someone you know."

The way he moved, his mannerisms and his 'High Speech' made Verity sure that it was Roland in there, not a teenager. Of course, she'd believed him. After reading the Valarnet posts and talking to Fred and George, how could she not? She would have believed him without all the other evidence, though. Because he didn't lie to her. Not that she knew of, anyway.

"That's true, I never thought about it that way," she said, a fond smile on her features. The baby was stirring, and she could feel the movement under her hand. "She always moves when she hears your voice." Even though it wasn't technically his at the moment.

She could have been in someone else's body and Roland would have known her, but he was glad she was in her own. This time, he didn't ask to touch her. He laid his hand over hers. He didn't need to look down to know that the hand was young, even younger than Verity's. "Hile, Christina," he said, his gaze shifting down Verity's body...her swelling breasts to her swelling belly where their hands were resting.

Verity shifted her hand under his, moving it so he could rest his against her belly. Christina was moving, he was sure to feel it under his Palm and fingertips. Verity's hand rested on top of his now, gently holding him in place.

"You'll be back to normal soon." She wasn't site why she said it. Maybe she was trying to convince herself.

As their hands moved, Roland found himself wishing for his own killer's hands. They were older and thinner, but they were stronger and bigger and how many people in his dreams had died by their doing? For now, he still let his fingers spread over the round, feeling something moving underneath.

When she stated what she did, he looked at her again and frowned. "Aye," he told her, bringing his free hand up to frame her cheek. "Never think I won't."

It was so weird that this was Roland, but didn't look or sound anything like him. Sure he had the right actions, mannerisms, but it wasn't his body or his voice. She had no doubt he was in there, though, and even less that he would be back in his own body before she knew it.

"I kinda like this teenager," she teased, looking up into his eyes. Her free hand came up to rest against his on her cheek. "He's cute."

"Cute," Roland said, amusement flickering at the side of his mouth.

"Mayhap you'd like to meet him after all of this is over." There was sadness to his tone, but Roland could be realistic at times. He was too old for her in his other body, and he was not yet over Meetra, and certainly he was starting to not be over Susan either. Verity deserved more.

If Verity knew what he was thinking, she would have argued. He wasn't too old for her. She didn't deserve more. And besides, she wasn't over Oliver, either. Was she? His leaving wouldn't still hurt so much if she was, would it?

She chuckled and shook her head. He wouldn't be nearly as interesting to her without Roland inside him. "Mayhap," she repeated, playfully.

She was teasing him and, somehow, it just made her more endearing. Roland smiled a little more, tingling a little to kiss her. In a body that wasn't his own, he wasn't sure that would go over very well with either Verity or Ash.

After another moment, he gave her hand a squeeze, then eased away and went to take the cereal box up. He flopped on the sofa with it. "You look nice," he said lamely.

She could feel it in the air between them. She knew he wanted to kiss her, it was the same way he acted when he was in his own skin. The wetting of lips, slight leaning in, holding her with just slightly more pressure. She thought for a moment that he would. She wouldn't have minded. But then he was pulling away and flopping on the sofa. She moved to join him, sitting almost as delicately.

"Thank you," she said to the compliment. "I'm ballooning out. I can't find my ankles anymore."

The smile came and went as they all did, even though it lasted longer in this body. It almost felt natural to smile. Roland offered the box over after he took out a fistful of sugary cereal and began to rummage through it for the best bits. "Maybe I'll get her a pony," he mused.

"Ooh, thank you!" Verity perked up considerably at the offer of the cereal box. She took out a handful herself, but didn't bother hunting for marshmallows. She just ate indiscriminately.

"What? Buy who a pony?"

"Christina," Roland answered.

There were a few horses out back in the desert that he'd bought from auction, but there were no ponies and the barn he had was still scant. He needed to fix it up.

Verity gave a little laugh. She didn't think he was serious. Wasn't that the thing all little girls said they wanted that their parents never got for them? "Wait, she's not even born yet, and you're already thinking about getting her a pony??"

Christina must have been twirling with excitement inside her. Verity shifted to relieve the pressure on her bladder. "I think she likes that idea."

Didn't all little girls want ponies? Roland wondered vaguely if Susan ever had a pony. She had Pylon when he'd been with her, a strong, large stock breed of a horse, even bigger than Roland's mount. But she must have started somewhere, on a pony, the way she rode Pylon. "Yes," Roland nodded. "If it's alright with her mother."

"All little girls love ponies. I'm sure Christina would be thrilled. You know, in a few years when she's old enough to enjoy it." She was seriously thinking about a stuffed pony, or a rocking horse, something along those lines.

"It's all right with her mother, of course. Though, her mother doesn't know a thing about ponies."
