Who: Damian Wayne and Alyssa Hamilton
What: Damian surprises Alyssa with a trip to Disneyland
When: Saturday August 3rd. Morning
Where: Paradise Pier; Disneyland
Rating: Mostly Family Friendly.
Status: Complete!
Damian had been so nervous about the surprise trip to Disneyland ever since he’d asked Velma to help him with the hotel room. It would have been a lot easier if he was actually old enough to book a hotel room, but since he wasn’t, he needed an adult to help and he definitely wasn’t going to ask Nancy to book them a hotel room. That would just lead to awkward conversations that he didn’t want to have. So, Velma had booked their room at Paradise Pier and he’d given her the money then he’d bought their park tickets and began planning how to make the surprise work. The night before, he’d suggested that they go out for breakfast that morning and somehow managed to pack a bag for Alyssa without her noticing and put both of their bags in the trunk of her car and offered to drive that morning.
They had been driving for much longer than it should have taken to go somewhere for breakfast when Alyssa had finally asked exactly where they were going, but Damian refused to tell her. It wasn’t until they started passing signs for Disneyland that she appeared to catch on and she had the reaction that he had been hoping for. Of course, when they finally parked in the lot for the hotel, she’d really gotten excited and her reaction was even better.
After checking in, they went up to the room and Damian set both of their bags down near the end of the bed and turned to Alyssa, “So, good surprise?”
At first, Alyssa had figured she was being abducted to Mexico or some road trip or something. That was totally fine with Alyssa; she had a while until she started classes yet, so she wasn’t upset with anywhere they might go. But when she realized it was Disneyland, she’d started to bounce around in her seat. She hadn’t gone yet, and it seemed like something she should do as a resident of California. At least once.
But a hotel, too? For a couple of days? Alyssa just jumped onto Damian, wrapping her arms around him and her legs around his waist, snogging him soundly. That was her answer.
That had been one of the ways he’d thought she could react, but it had been one of the ones lower down on the list. However, he was ready and wrapped his arms around her to support her as he kissed her back, smiling into the kiss, happy that she liked the surprise. He hadn’t been worried that she wouldn’t like it, but more worried that something would go wrong. So he was happy that everything was going off without a hitch.
He was still smiling as he broke the kiss, “I figured if we’re gonna do Disneyland for the first time, we should do it right.” It was Damian’s first time there too and he wanted to go all out on it.
She was happy that they were alone, that they’d have a weekend to themselves. After all of the calamities, it would be nice for them to have some time to be teenagers, to just be silly for a while.
“Thank you for this, Damian. I think we could both use it for a while.” She stood up again, sighing happily and bouncing a little on the bed. “How’d you manage the hotel? Did you use a fake ID?”
“No, I actually asked Velma to help.” Damian watched Alyssa, his smile a bit shy, “I knew that asking your mom would just lead to awkward stuff, so I figured Velma was the next best bet.” He was really glad that she’d agreed to help him. He hadn’t had a backup after Velma, which would have ruined the whole plan. Of course they could have gone for a day, but Damian had wanted to make a weekend of it so that they could do both parks.
“Vel’s fantastic. I’m glad you two are getting on.” She kissed him again, trying not to seem too excited. She’d known there’d been some animosity between them over the whole Logan thing, but Alyssa really did enjoy Velma’s company as a friend. Logan’s too. It was good to have Damian getting on with them.
“I was afraid she would say no at first, but she was real helpful,” Damian kissed her back, smiling. No one was happier that Damian had been able to get over his whole thing with Logan more than he was. Ever since he’d been able to put it all behind him, things had been much better between him and Alyssa and he was determined to keep it that way. “I’ll admit, the hardest part was actually packing for you. Had to do it without you noticing.”
“Oh, god, did you remember to pack me knickers?” Alyssa giggled, still with her arms on his shoulders. “I hope you didn’t end up packing me all plaid and polka dots.” Damian probably wasn’t the best person to put together a girlie outfit, but she didn’t care a bit. The gesture was what mattered.
“Alyssa, this is a family place. Of course I packed you underwear. I’m not a perv.” Damian shook his head as his hands moved to her hips, “And I promise, your clothes will all match.” Damian had mostly packed outfits of Alyssa’s that she’d worn before that he had liked on her. Thinking like that had made it easy to locate everything.
“Some boys forget that sort of thing!” Alyssa laughed to herself, moving to bounce a little on the bed. “But thank you. I didn’t think you were going to try to have sex with me on the teacups, or make the Matterhorn the most inappropriate place on Earth.”
Damian shook his head, chuckling as he laid back on the bed, legs hanging off the edge, “All of those things move way too fast to try anything like that. “God, Alyssa stop being such a perv,” He smirked, reaching out to poke her in the back. “I don’t want to go to Mickey Jail.”
“Isn’t that what the Small World ride is for?” She giggled, turning around to tickle him.
“Do you honestly think I could have sex with that song stuck in my head?” Damian asked, laughing as Alyssa started tickling him. Retaliating, he started tickling her ribcage, “You’re so bad, Alyssa. I can’t take you anywhere without you thinking about sex. And they say guys are bad.” Smirking, he stuck his tongue out at her.
“Oh, no, I meant that ride is MIckey Jail.” Alyssa shrieked when she was tickled, trying to bat him away. “I am not, I just wanted to make sure you remembered my knickers so I wouldn’t have to go shopping for more you nutter!”
Damian loved making her laugh or shriek like that and he continued tickling her, even when he moved and pinned her to the bed, “Yeah, sure. Keep telling yourself that, pervy.” After another moment or two, he finally stopped tickling her and leaned down over her, smirking, “I wouldn’t forget your knickers.” The word sounded strange on Damian’s tongue, “By the way, I didn’t realize you had so many pairs. Why do girls have so many pairs of panties?”
“Lots of them are just to impress you.” He had to know that. She sat up, moving to sit closer to him. “They’re not all comfortable, the ones that’re the tiniest are for you.”
Damian smirked and moved along with her so that they were sitting and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, “Oh really? I might have to request a fashion show when we get home.” He definitely wouldn’t mind that, “But really, you don’t need skimpy underwear to impress me. I love you with or without underwear.” As he spoke, his smirk turned a bit mischievous,
Her jaw dropped. “Why Damian Wayne, are you ... are you being sexual innuendo-y at me?” She feigned surprise and shock, hand up to her forehead.
Damian laughed, “And what if I am? What’re you going to do about it?” These were his favorite moments with her; when they were just sitting around, acting like normal teenagers.
“Probably just tickle you,” she laughed. She pounced on him and tickled him savagely, grinning happily.
She moved so fast that Damian didn’t even have a chance to put up his hands in defense and struggled under her, as he laughed, while she tickled him again, “Ok! I surrender!” He exclaimed between bouts of laughter. “You win!”
Leaning down, Alyssa kissed him lightly. “I do. I have a considerate and thoughtful boyfriend. Thank you for this.”
Damian smiled up at her, bringing one hand up to run his fingers through her auburn hair, “You’re welcome.” He was so glad that this had all worked out well and the surprise hadn’t been ruined, “So, I bet you’re still hungry. We never did actually eat breakfast. Why don’t we go downstairs and eat then head into the park.”
“That sounds brilliant. How did I get so lucky?” She kissed him again before hopping off of him. “You’re considerate.” Most teenage boys were just terrible human beings, and she felt lucky to have one of the good ones. Between him and Bran, she thought she knew the only two who were decent.
