Who: Tessa & Zach What: Cuddly fluff When: last week Where: a hotel in San Francisco Warnings: fluffy PG
Snuggling your fiance was nice. Snuggling your fiance in the Elite Suite of a fancy hotel in San Francisco, paid for by the company that had just hired you so you could go to some fancy training? Was even nicer.
Zach smiled as he inhaled her scent. They had come here on Friday night late, after her latest shift, and spent the parts of the last two days when he wasn’t in classes in each other’s arms. She helped him get over his nerves, and he made sure she enjoyed the experience. They’d gone out to a nice little restaurant earlier, and now, well, now there was snuggling, which was really nice.
Zach had honestly been starting to get afraid he would not be hired at all, but after more than a month of unemployment, he had been hired for an even better job than he had held before, and he was excited about it. Genesis, Inc., was an old company, but a small one, who were mostly in the technology business. They were just now branching out into communications as well, by offering internet and telephone to people.
Zach snuggled close to Tessa and sighed, happily. This was a good time to be him.
Tessa was genuinely excited for Zach, and she made sure to show it by asking about his new job, and his classes; offering encouragement, and kisses; and sometimes just listening while he expressed his fears and concerns. She appreciated the fact that she was able to be with him at the hotel, and help keep him grounded--and it was just fun to spend time with him.
Zach loved having her there, and loved being able to share things with her. It felt even more like they were married already. And it made him consider even more moving in with her soon. He snuggled close to her and kissed her. “Thank you for coming here with me.”
“You’re welcome,” she said, running her fingers through his hair. It was good to see him so relaxed. “I’m happy to be here.”
“You make life so much better, and with you here, it’s easier to do everything. It’s like home came with me.” He smiled softly to her, his heart in his eyes.
Tessa smiled back, and leaned forward to kiss him, soft and slow, but with a heat beneath it that hinted at the passion she felt for him. She loved it when he got all romantic like this; she never got tired of hearing his sweet somethings. “You are my home.”
Zach blushed and kissed her back, putting all his passion into it as well. Hearing her words made him sigh, not in exasperation, but in joy. He was an incredibly lucky man. He snuggled her close and kissed her again, nodding. “How did we get so lucky?” He had no clue, but he was glad of it. Somehow, someway, they had found each other.
“I don’t know,” she said, “But I’m glad we did.” She couldn’t imagine life without him, nor did she want to. “I’m excited for when we can be together like this all the time.”
Zach nodded. “I’ve been thinking about that, and thinking maybe we should make the moving in time sooner, rather than later. You know, if you are up for that.” He grinned wider at her, eyes excited. He wouldn’t mind leaving where he lived, not at all.
“I am,” she said, “I’ve been cleaning out my closets to make room for you.” She smiled, and traced the midline of his torso with a fingertip.
Zach smiled softly, shivering at her touch. “Yeah? Then I guess I can give notice at my place.” With a new job starting, and life turning brilliantly, he was ready to completely start over with staying at her place, and making it theirs.
