Who: Damian Wayne and Alyssa Hamilton
What: Trying to be normal teenagers during a semi-crisis
When: Backdated: Saturday July 6th. Early Evening
Where: Lo's Safehouse
Rating: Pretty family friendly. Mostly fluff.
Status: Complete!
Lo’s house really had been safer than her mother’s, and Alyssa was glad they’d gone there. She’d snipped husks out of the second floor window with her bow, letting none get too close. But even so, she had the feeling that Lo wasn’t just the milquetoasty lawyer he seemed, and that he had some tricks up his sleeve as well.
Damian had been outside doing a sweep of the property, katana in hand, making sure that there weren’t any husks or anything else lurking around that Alyssa or Velma might not have sniped. He had been getting better with the katana ever since the day him and Logan had to fight all those demons to get to Alyssa at the end of May. All of this fighting demons and aliens and what not made Damian feel like he was in a video game sometimes. Honestly, what caused all this stuff? Nothing like this had ever happened in Chicago.
Satisfied that the area was devoid of alien zombie things, Damian went back into the house, locking up behind before he went to find Alyssa upstairs where he’d last seen her before going outside.
Alyssa smiled when she heard Damian coming upstairs. “Hello, love. Anything on the ground we missed?” She saw another one from fairly far off and shot it dead center. “I’m getting good at this, I daresay.”
“Not anymore,” Damian smirked as Alyssa took a lurker out, “Don’t know how I missed that one.” He set his katana down and moved up behind her and pressed a kiss to her cheek, “I know what you mean. I’m getting really good with sword fighting too. I’m not quite as good as in my dreams, but I’m getting there.” Despite the fact that dream Damian was only ten, he was pretty much unstoppable, which was a little mind boggling since he was still only human.
“Oh, he was far out.” Alyssa smiled, kissing Damian’s cheek in turn. “Aren’t you ... wee in your dreams?” She blinked.
“Guess you have the better vantage point, huh?” He smirked and wrapped his around around Alyssa from behind, glad that they were more or less safe. He hadn’t been sure about going to the safehouse at first, especially since he wasn’t sure if Velma actually believed him when he said that he was over his jealousy of Logan, but so far things had been going fine and he’d even gotten the chance to meet the girl that Logan had or was adopting, he wasn’t really sure which it was, “Yeah, I’m like ten. Pretty crazy strong and bratlike for ten.”
“I’m not really built for hand to hand, though I know I can. Silly flaming sword business,” she sighed. “Hmm. You’re a brat in your dreams? I suppose some things stay the same.”
“Hey!” Damian smirked, pinching Alyssa’s side lightly, “Trust me, I’m an even bigger brat in my dreams. Kind of anti-christ like. My mother seems to be the only one who can tolerate me in the dreams.” Of course it’d probably be easier if Damian wasn’t so stubborn in the dreams, but at least he wasn’t quite as bad in the waking world, “So, do we get a break now?” He really hoped that the alien zombie things would give them a bit of a reprieve.
“I hope we get a break for a while. And anti-christ like seems awfully ... what did you do?” She leaned against him, letting her head rest on his shoulders. “If it helps at all, I’m an idiot in my dreams. I just run around screaming half the time.”
“Well, I told you about how I basically tried to kill my father’s sidekick,” It hadn’t just been because Tim had been his father’s sidekick, but because he’d been adopted by Bruce and Damian had been jealous, because he was his true son, not Tim. “Other than that, I mouthed off every chance I got. I wouldn’t listen and wound up killing a man, a villain, because I thought my father was weak since he had a no killing rule or something.” That was a big thing for Batman, he’d noticed. He would beat the bad guys to a bloody pulp, but he wouldn’t kill them. Damian had, had no problem killing, decapitating, someone though. Who did that kind of stuff at ten?
That made Alyssa wince. “Okay, point taken. Please, don’t go all evil. I’d hate to have to shoot you.”
Damian laughed and held her closer, her back against his chest, “Don’t worry, I won’t go all evil. I don’t really want you to have to shoot me either. I bet it stings a little.” He pressed a kiss to her temple, smirking, “So, think it’s safe to take a break for a little while?”
Alyssa closed her eyes and leaned back against him, smiling a little. “It doesn’t sound like dream you is even evil, just ... young and terribly misguided.” But when she heard the smirk in his question - and it was audible - she gave him one in return. “Maybe. Why?”
“Yeah, my mom wasn’t exactly the best role model, in my dreams,” Damian shrugged at the question, hands idly running up and down Alyssa’s sides, “Just thought we could take a break from being badass alien zombie killers for a little while and go back to being regular teenagers.” With these dreams and the abilities they got from them, Damian doubted they’d ever really be regular anything again, but it was a nice thought anyway.
“Regular.” Alyssa smiled to herself and turned her head to kiss him. They weren’t regular, but they could at least pretend. “And what, handsome boyfriend, does being a regular teenager entail?”
Damian kissed her back, his fingers playing with the hem of Alyssa’s shirt, “Well, there’s one thing I could suggest, but we never know when we might be called upon to take up arms.” He wrinkled his nose, “And we’ve already had your mom walk in on us. I don’t think I could face Velma or Eli ever again if one of them walked in on us.”
“Oh, god, no.” She laughed a little at the mental image of Eli running away; the girl seemed so innocent, it was hard to believe she was what Logan said she was. “Velma would tell us to get a room that wasn’t her friend’s.”
Damian laughed and kissed her again, “And this isn’t one of those horror movies where the stupid teenagers stop and have sex while there’s a seriel killer or something out there. I mean, come on. Who does that?” Horror movies were pretty stupid, but at the same time they were extremely entertaining and did a pretty good idea of telling you what not to do during an event like that, “Do you think this Lo guy has any boards games or anything like that here?”
“Oh, god, that would be horrible. I mean, I can imagine that sex after traumatic incidents is common, but you know. After.” She hopped up and started examining the sides of cardboard boxes. One was labeled ‘games’, and she gave a happy a-ha noise. “Sorry, Risk, Jenga, or Monopoly? There’s a deck of cards, too.”
“Yeah, but not while there is a crazy killer stalking your house and probably watching you have sex.” Wasn’t that how it always happened to? The guy was standing right outside the bedroom window being a creepy voyeur? He watched as Alyssa inspected the sides of the boxes and smiled as she found one with games. He hadn’t actually played a board game in a while. Truth or Dare with Arya and Bran had been the first game, aside from video games, he’d played in a long time. “How about Sorry. Maybe Eli would want to play too.”
“They always get two-fers when it’s kids shagging,” Alyssa sighed. She nodded, taking out Sorry and smiling. “I can shut this window and then we can go down and see.” It was dark out, so Eli would be awake.
“All this talk about horror movies kind of makes me want to have a horror movie night. Maybe when all this is over.” Damian smirked and moved to close the window for Alyssa, “There, closed.” He smirked then picked up his katana, not wanting to leave it upstairs just in case, “Lets go see if she’s interested.”
