It seemed like the paid had at least a few things in common. Spock didn't have a lot of friends himself, tending to keep to himself after work. He had acquaintances and coworkers, but friends were hard to come by. It didn't exactly bother him as much as it could have.
Spock hadn't meant to shift the attention to himself. Feeling suddenly shy, he fought to urge to shrug or give her a quick response and move on. He wanted her to think well of him, he realized after a moment of gathering his thoughts. "I teach," he said, "compsci classes at Fullerton." He looked down, half amused and half embarrassed. "I suppose that I am a rule follower." And a nerd, but he didn't say that out loud. "But that's because I like rules. I find rules simple." Spock quite liked things simple and this situation seemed anything but.
