"Not that far from you," Spock responded. "My father teaches at Stanford and I grew up not too far from the campus." It'd been a relatively boring adolescence because he'd grown up around a college, where there was little to do for a kid his age. "I was always told I seemed fairly east coast." That had never exactly offended him.
Spock considered her words and took a sip from his cup. "Yes." He agreed. "But you get used to it quickly." He half shrugged. "Or you leave." He wanted to ask where she worked, but held back the question. It seemed slightly intrusive. At least for the moment. "How long have you been here?"
