A coffee shop was a clever place to meet up with Spock. He was right after all. Everyone likes coffee and the baristas usually shouted your name so it was easy to spot the person you had come to meet if you didn't have a clear idea of what they looked like. This was the case with Uhura and Spock. Her attention snapped away from her smart phone when she heard the name. Uhura's first impression of Spock was a good one. He was attractive. He dressed well and it didn't look like he had any weapons on him. Not that it would matter. Uhura had her own concealed weapon on her body at all times. Even when she was "off duty" she was really on duty. Not that she was checking up on Spock because she wasn't, but one could never be too safe.
Uhura kept her eyes on Spock to wait for him to look her way and when he did she flashed him a smile and indicated subtly with her head that he should come sit down with her.
"Hi," she said. "Uhura. Spock, right? I heard the barista say your name."
