It had taken some time for things to settle down. Kitty had seemed to bounce back pretty quickly, and Clarice had some ideas, but she wanted to give her girlfriend a good time - and that battle had also made her think about things.
Permanent things.
She appeared behind Illyana and covered her eyes. “Boo!”
Ilyana laughed, after tensing for a moment. She relaxed under her love’s hands and reached back to tickle, and grope, every inch of her. “Hmmm, who could it be?”
“Guess,” Clarice said, nuzzling her ear with her lips.
“The sexiest, most awesome woman in the world?” Illyana grinned and her tail slipped out and stroked Clarice’s butt gently.
“Mmnn...” Clarice nuzzled her again. “I’m not you, my little demon.”
“Pfft. I am not the sexiest or most awesome, love. That will always be you.” She wiggled under the nuzzling, and her tail slid up to stroke and caress her love’s hair
"Together we're the sexiest." She leaned into the hair caresses, closing her eyes and letting out a soft, happy sound. It had been so close for them. She wanted to experience everything with Illyana.
Illyana kissed Clarice, and snuggled her close, shifting so she could, caressing her with hands and tail, and lips. “I love you.” It was simple, those three words, and yet so complex.
She peered into her lover’s eyes, then cupped her face. “I love you too. I...” Maybe that wasn’t a good idea. Clarice changed her mind and kissed her. “If I didn’t have practice later...”
Illyana arched an eyebrow. “I know.” She smiled softly. “BUt you do.” She stroked a hand up Clarice’s side and to her face.
She smiled wider. “We should go out to dinner, next week. Just you and me and nothing and no one else.”
Clarice smiled more widely. “I’d like that. Some place romantic.” And it might give her time to get a ring...if she decided she wanted to go that route.
“Sounds good. I even know a good place. I’ll make reservations.” She wasn’t wealthy, but a steady income was coming in from her shop, since somehow the unsteady weather had more people looking for new answers. She had arranged to have more books on various systems delivered to her shop since her small library of books on the subjects had been wiped out.
“Okay.” Clarice ran her fingers over Illyana’s tail, sighing happily. “Is it close by, or will we have to teleport?” She grinned.
“Close by,,,nnn.” Illyana smiled softly. “We can go by car, or teleport, either way. “ Illyana grinned. “I might get a new outfit for it.”
“Think you can pull off sexy without showing a lot of skin?” Clarice kind of wanted to rub her hands over Illyana in a slinky fabric.
“I suppose I could. If I must.” She grinned at her lover, teasing. “I do know some places that sell delightfully silky and nearly sheer dresses. Not see-through, but tantalizingly close.”
“Perfect. I’d like to be surprised...” She leaned in and kissed Illyana deeply. “Do you think we should get our own place, some day?”
Illyana kissed her back, sliding her arms more fully around Clarice, and mmming. She took a minute to smile softly. “Yes. Someday. I think it would be good for all of us. Maybe some place close so we can see the twins and Kitty now and then.” She nodded. She liked Kitty, who had been her best friend in another world, and sometimes in this one.
“Some place close is good,” Clarice replied, cupping Illyana’s face. “But I think we can not have to worry about being quiet any more.”
“I know. But I would like our own place sometime, when we are bouncing and ringed and enjoying our own life.”
“We’re on the same page. I’m sure there’s no rush though.” She didn’t want Kitty to get too lonely. She kissed Illyana. “I’m glad we got everyone..I’m glad you weren’t taken.”
“Me too.” Illyana kissed back and snuggled close, just holding Clarice for a moment. “It was bad, and I hated it, but this darkness reminded me that there will always be such.” She disliked it, but she would find ways to fight it.
“You can use the darkness in you to bring light. Just like I can use my experiences to make sure they don’t happen to people here.” Clarice nodded her head. “Is there anything I can get you? Anything?”
“Clarice, I don’t need anything but you. I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you.” She kissed Clarice, slow and warmly. before she could say anything.
It stopped a sudden proposal. Clarice closed her eyes and kissed Illyana back, deeply and lovingly.
Illyana kissed her slowly and long and wanting. “MMm, well, I could use more kisses. An endless supply.”
“Here’s another,” and she kissed her again. And then another, and another and another, until they were speaking in the language of kisses.
And that was a language Illyana liked quite a lot. She spoke it well, with Clarice, anyway. She didn’t care about anyone else in this.
The kisses only grew hotter, and led to more interesting kisses, and when an hour had passed, they were sitting, and smiling, and snuggled closer together.
“I love you.”
Clarice giggled, and nuzzled into Illyana’s arms. “I love you. You’re a missing piece of me I didn’t know I’d lost.”
Illyana softly kissed Clarice’s nose. “I feel the same. My silly, wonderful, sexy woman. “ Then she simply blurted it out. “Want to get married?”
Oops?
Clarice blinked her eyes. Then she blurted out, “I’m still trying to find you a ring!”
Illyana smirked, then laughed. “I imagine you had better work on that, then.” She blinked innocent eyes at Clarice.
“I’ve been biting back those words for weeks now,” Clarice admitted, ducking her head. She couldn’t believe they’d come out of Illyana’s mouth.
“Why?” Illyana peered under Clarice, and peered at her face. Illyana had issues with words spoken out of turn, spoken falsely, or uselessly, This had been none of those.
“I didn’t know how you’d react. If it was what you wanted. I’m not a big fan of divorce. Hell, my parents have been happily married my whole like.” That was what Clarice wanted.
Illyana smiled. “If we get married, there are no divorces.” Her words were soft, but sure. “If you are not ready for that, then there should be no marriage.”
Clarice grabbed her hands and squeezed them. “Oh, no no I’m ready. I’m more than ready, I’ve been ready! We could die tomorrow...i’d rather have shared it with you than not.”
Illyana kissed her softly. “We are not dying tomorrow. We are alive. We might die the day after, however, so yes, we should be married.” She nodded.
“When do you want to do it? We can finally do it here, in our home!”
“As soon as we have the license and can drag everyone here. I want to do it right.” Illyana nodded, then sighed. “I want to do it right the first time and the last time.”
“So no eloping to Vegas, then?” She asked, raising her eyebrows.
“No eloping. We are having a wedding, albeit a small one, and we are having a reception, right here in this house. And You know it.” Illyana smirked. “I wonder how I would look in a tuxedo.”
“Sexy. … I’d really like the dress.” Clarice ducked her head again. It was one of her girlier things.
Ilyana smirked. “I can design you one, maybe. Like I did for Kitty’s wedding?” She winked.
“That was a really nice dress, but could you do something more traditional?” She smirked at Illyana. “I’d rather not do a star trek nude wedding.”
Illyana chuckled. “I guess.” She winked at Clarice. “I’m sure we can come up with something.” She nodded and kissed Clarice. “I love you... fiance.”
“I love you...wife.” Clarice grinned. Nothing was going to ruin this. Nothing.
