The flight from Orange County to San Francisco had been a lot of fun. Justin had never been on a private jet before, but he’d seen plenty in the movies and on TV and he certainly wasn’t disappointed by it when they’d boarded. While there were a few people on the trip that Justin knew, there were also a lot that he didn’t know and the flight had been a good way to get to know everyone. It was easy to tell that this was going to be a fun trip.
After arriving and checking into their hotel, everyone had gone off to do their own thing for a little while. Justin and Gaz’s thing was to find a piercing place where they could get their nipples pierced. He’d never really thought about doing something like that before, but after the dream where he’d gotten one pierced in an attempt to get Brian’s attention, he thought that it might be interesting to actually do it and when Gaz brought up getting hers done too, well, he had to do it now.
Gaz hadn’t bought the jet, that had been her father’s while he’d still been alive. She’d just kept it because she really hated flying with other people that she didn’t know. With her friends, it was fine. She smiled at least twice during the flight. That was practically a record.
But that had been a while ago and she was standing with Justin outside a tattoo parlor that did body piercing. “You ready?”
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that? I mean, I have no problem taking my shirt off in front of strangers.” Somehow he didn’t think that Gaz did either, but he had to tease her a bit. Not to mention, it was a little different for a girl to take their shirt off in a public place than it was for a guy, “Have you told Erik that you’re doing this?” Justin asked as he opened the door, holding it for his friend.
“I don’t either,” Gaz shrugged. “It’s not like they’re gonna check me out, it’s like the doctor.” She grinned as she walked into the parlor. She’d had tattoos before, but her sped up healing had glossed all of them over. “I wonder if I can even get them. Have to figure that out first,” she shrugged.
“Why wouldn’t you be able to get them?” Justin didn’t actually know about Gaz’s abilities, because they’d never really talked much about her dreams. He followed her in, letting the door close behind them. Justin had no tattoos and had never gotten anything pierced before so this was his first time in a tattoo parlor.
“I heal really fast. Like, a lot. ... the dreams.” Gaz walked up to the counter because she looked like the kind of girl that lived in a tattoo shop. Because of this, she was greeted almost immediately. “Two sets of nipple piercings, one for me and one for my friend.”
Well that explained it, “Fuck. That must come in handy when you actually need it.” He would have to ask Gaz more about her dreams later. When she approached the counter and told the person behind it what they wanted, the guy glanced at Justin and quirked a brow at him, clearly not believing that Justin would be there for that. “Is there a problem with that?” The guy also didn’t seem to think Justin would say anything to him either.
Gaz smirked, leaning forward along the counter and looking back at Justin. “He probably thinks you’re cute and doesn’t want to marr your perfect nipples.” Because really, this guy probably wouldn’t have a problem looking at her chest in a purely clinical fashion.
Justin laughed and shook his head as the guy went into the back, “It is possible. We are in San Francisco after all.” He’d been looking forward to this weekend all month and had been worried that plans would fall through before they actually got to the weekend, but now that they were there, he couldn’t wait to start having fun, “It just occurred to me that I’m probably not gonna be able to surf for a few weeks. Won’t be able to wear a wetsuit.”
“You can still back out if you want to, you don’t have to.” Gaz understood how frustrating it could be to not want to do what you were passionate about.
“I’m not backing out. If dream me could do this at seventeen, then I can do it now. Although, I was thinking about maybe just doing the one like in the dreams. I might be lopsided, but two might look even stranger on me,” Justin ran a hand through his hair as the guy came back and told them to follow him into one of the rooms, stopping before they reached it to ask if they wanted to be in separate rooms. “I’m fine with the same if you don’t mind.” He spoke to Gaz as he glanced from the guy to his friend.
Gaz shrugged. “Nah, one’s fine. Nobody really cares either way here about my tits.” She followed, smiling at Justin. “You can figure out if you look doofy lopsided or not and always get the other one later if you want to.”
“I wouldn’t say that no one cares,” Justin smirked as they went into the room where there was a padded chair as well as a bed. The guy went around, getting new needle packs then asked them who was going first. “Should we flip a coin?” Justin asked, glancing over at Gaz.
“I’ll go first if you want me to.” Gaz didn’t care. She tugged her shirt off and stood there in her bra - black, of course - waiting for Justin to decide. She wasn’t scared; she used to cut herself until her healing had put an end to it. Needles were just a change of pace.
“Well you’re already halfway there.” While he was gay, Justin had seen boobs before, so he wasn’t about to be traumatized or anything. “Besides, you’re doing both, so it probably makes sense for you to go first.”
She nodded, unhooking her bra and sitting down on the table. She looked fairly calm, and did so even as the guy ran alcohol over her nipples. She’d opted for sideways barbells, figuring they’d be the easiest for her body to heal up.
The needle wasn’t huge, a sixteen gauge, and she didn’t even flinch when the right one was pierced. “It’s not bad,” she said to Justin. “You’ll be fine.” The left was even easier.
Justin watched, cringing slightly as he watched the needle pierce Gaz’s nipples. In the dream he hadn’t been quite as calm as she was being, but at least he hadn’t screamed or anything, so he hoped that he wouldn’t make a fool of himself tonight. When the guy finished with Gaz, Justin took off his shirt and sat down, telling the guy that he was only doing the right. “How’s it feel now?” He asked, glancing up at Gaz as the guy ran alcohol over his nipple.
Gaz shifted her weight. “Fine, really.” She put her bra back on and smiled to herself. “I think Erik will like them. If he doesn’t, it’s not like I can’t take them out.” But she knew that Erik knew how much she’d missed her scars and tattoos, so he’d understand why she wanted these.
“Too bad I don’t have anyone to show off to here,” In his dream, Justin had done this to get Brian’s attention and it had only brought unwanted attention from Chris Hobbs, which had led to the fight he’d gotten into in the locker room. At least here, Justin didn’t have to worry about any of that, because he wasn’t in high school and wasn’t a naive teenager. While Gaz hadn’t flinched, Justin wrinkled his nose and grit his teeth a bit as the needle was slid through his nipple. He’d opted for a ring like in the dream. “Shit. You must have a high pain tolerance than me.”
“You could say that,” Gaz smiled. “You’re doing fine.” She reached out for his hand and squeezed it. “And you’ll find somebody to show it off to. It’s Pride, for crying out loud. How could you not?”
Justin grinned as he squeezed Gaz’s hand back, glancing down to watch as the ring was slid through his nipple. He still couldn’t believe that he had actually just done that, but strangely enough it felt right. It felt like he was supposed to do it. “I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.” If he wound up hooking up with someone during Pride, it wouldn’t be the first time. When the guy was finished, Justin got up and pulled his shirt back on.
“Just make sure he knows it’s new and doesn’t pull it,” Gaz offered with a wince. That would hurt someone who didn’t have her pain threshhold. “When are the festivities, anyway?” She cocked her head to the side, smiling to herself. She happened to like watching people being so happy, especially about something so inherent to themselves.
“Ouch. That would definitely kill the mood,” Justin said as they walked back out to the front of the shop, “Pretty much all day tomorrow and Sunday. Ya know, it’s kind of funny, if my dream I did this with my friend Daphne, although she didn’t get her nipples pierced too and now here I did it with you.” He could only imagine what not!dream Daphne would say when he told her about this.
“What was she like?” Gaz handed over her card, paying for hers and Justin’s work without asking him if that was okay. Gaz had more money than she’d ever know what she was able to do with.
“In the dreams we’re both pretty fucking naive.”Justin still couldn’t believe how naive he was in the dreams. He was pretty sure that he wasn’t that bad when he was really seventeen. He certainly hadn’t thought he was in love with the first guy he’d slept with, but at the same time he hadn’t been a gorgeous twenty-nine year old guy. So he supposed he could see how dream!Justin would have thought he was in love. “I guess in reality we’re pretty similar, which is why we’re best friends. She was the first person I came out to.”
“Yeah.” She didn’t have much to offer that; Gaz hadn’t really had any friends until recently. And she’d never come out about sleeping with girls because it hadn’t really been a big deal for her. It was just a thing she did sometimes. “It’s good you had someone.”
“You guys should meet sometime. I think you guys would get along.” When Gaz was finished paying, Justin pulled the door open for her, “It’s funny, I’ve always had more female friends than guy friends.” Sure he had a few guy friends, some were even straight, but he tended to get a long better with girls for some reason; probably cause there was no chance he was going to hit on them.
“I’ve always gotten along better with guys.” She chuckled. “But that’s just because at gaming tourneys, it’s kind of sausage festy.” Which she hated. It wasn’t like female thumbs were inferior or something.
Justin laughed as they started walking, “Obviously we need to get more girls to play video games then.” He smirked over at Gaz, hip bumping her playfully, “Wanna get something to drink before we head back to the hotel?”
“Yeah, there’s time for booze.” She smiled at him and took his arm, motioning for him to lead on.
