"Never mind what?" Clearly Hermione missed the point of the words "never mind". But she was nosy. Of course she was going to ask. To Hermione "never mind" meant that there was something somebody wasn't telling her because they didn't think she needed to know. In Hermione's mind? There wasn't anything in existence that she didn't need to know.
Rolling her eyes, Hermione pushed herself to lean against the headboard. "I read the newspaper, Ron. I know what's been happening on the east coast. What I'm saying is that the dream thing is entirely unrelated to crazy people eating other crazy people's faces or hearts or throwing their intestines at the police. The dream phenomenon is very likely a localized thing, as I can't seem to find mention of it anywhere except Orange County."
"Aaaaand if there are zombies on the east coast - which I really doubt that there are; I'm pretty sure those are just lunatics on drugs - they wouldn't get to us this soon anyway. The infection couldn't spread that fast." Being friends with Ron and Harry, how could Hermione not know more than anyone ever needed to know about a potential zombie apocalypse?
