Mako + Korra then open
Today was weird. Mako had woken up feeling a little bit off. No fire. No matter how hard he tried. Still, it was kind of new to him, and even though it was a bit strange he wasn't as terribly bothered as some people might have been about missing it. It wasn't like he needed to be able to create fire for anything, here.
Like Korra, for instance, who identified with her dreams on a level that Mako couldn't really begin to fathom. Still, there was no sitting indoors and moping about it -- not when everyone else seemed affected by it, too. And so he'd done what any concerned boyfriend who still wanted to socialize and sort of celebrate his birthday a day late might do: dragged her out with him.
"See? It's a nice turn out. Oh, look. Volleyball nets!"
