Alicia was very grateful to Harry for arranging this massage. She was dressed in casual clothing, and cleaned up. She was more than ready to relax after her crazy week. She hoped the massage would help, she was having a hard time sleeping.

Elaine wore loose, stretchy, workout pants, and a polo shirt, and greeted the woman with a warm smile as she entered the little studio. “Alicia? Welcome to Evergrace. I’m Elaine.”

“Hi, yes.” Alicia held out her hand to Elaine. “It’s nice to meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you from Mr. Dresden. You come highly recommended.” She giggled a little.

Elaine shook the woman’s hand, feeling the buzz of magic beneath her palm. What do you know? She smiled, and released her grip, saying, “Harry’s a little bit biased, but I will do my best not to disappoint. Would you care for something to drink while we go over the medical release forms? I have water, tea, or lavender lemonade.”

“Lavender lemonade sounds good.” Alicia said with a smile. “And I’d trust Harry’s bias over most people’s, so I think I’m in good hands.” She liked her boss. If she could stop being enslaved in one manner or another for a while she might consider staying.

“I know he certainly appreciates having your help at the office,” Elaine said, pouring a glass of lemonade from the fridge and handing it to Alicia. She gestured to the sitting area, then, where the paperwork was ready and waiting. “Please, make yourself comfortable. Are you looking for any specific work today, or just general relaxation?”

“General relaxation. I’ve had a rough week.” Alicia said as she took her drink and took a seat.

“All right. Have you ever had a professional massage before, or would you like me to go over the basics?” She wanted Alicia to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible, before the session even began.

“I’ve had massages before. Mr. Dresden mentioned that you incorporate magic into your massage, I was curious about that, actually.” Alicia said with a smile.

“I do,” she said, smiling back. “I’ve been exploring some techniques that my dream counterpart developed, incorporating elements of reiki, and other types of energy work. Is there a particular focus that you have in mind, something you’d like to accomplish or work toward during the session?”

Alicia nodded. “Ever since I was possessed I’ve felt. . tainted I guess is the only way to describe it. Like the spirit that had control of me reached down deep and made my soul dirty. If you can do anything to help with that, I’d appreciate it.”

“That’s understandable,” Elaine said, nodding. “Perhaps you would permit me to guide you through some cleansing exercises, with your breath, along with the energetic attunement? And of course if you feel the need to stop, or change directions, your feedback is more than welcome as we go along. I don’t want to do anything that is uncomfortable for you.”

Alicia nodded. “That sounds nice. I’m willing to do a little breathing if it helps me feel better.”

“All right, then.” Elaine gestured to a door just down the hall. “We can head into the treatment room if you’re ready. If you’re looking for a blend of massage and energy work, then I’ll just step out so you can get changed and tucked in, and we can get started.”

Alicia followed, finishing her drink as she went. “Ok, that sounds good.” She smiled at Elaine and took her shoes off.

Elaine gave her client a moment, then entered the room, bowing slightly as she prepared to begin the session.
