Rating PG-13 for making Ty Lee google naughty things
Balance beam! Jubilee ran through her set, then bounced off of it. Better. Her floor show was better too but still not where she needed it. Maybe Laura could give her some tips and that would be a..really nice way to see her again. SCORE.
It was Ty Lee's turn on the bar. She swung up onto it with a graceful handstand, then started walking along it, hand over hand, legs bent up in the air. She was so very tired this morning. She hadn't gotten much sleep last night.
"We bought a chinchilla and named it Zuko."
"That was random!" Jubilee hopped up onto a horse and straddled it, "She's not trying to feed it to any snakes, is she?" She couldn't picture Bitchy McBitchness with any sort of soft, cuddly animal. A snake maybe. Or a lizard.
"No, but she did want a big snake. The kind that eat chihuahas, you know? I just managed to talk her into buying the fuzzy thing instead."
She backflipped onto her feet and then backflipped over and over again, until she got to the end of the bar. Then she took a seat on it for a minute so she could adjust the collar around her neck. She wasn't even sure why she was still wearing the thing.
Jubilee jumped over to the bar and cartwheeled and flipped over to her, "Why don't you take that off?" She pointed at the collar, "that's kinda like...humiliating, isn't it?"
"It's not that bad. I was kind of shocked when she put it on me, mostly because you'd told me to watch out for that. But it's comfortable most of the time. Except when I'm trying to leap around."
Ty Lee wasn't sure why it should be all that humiliating. It was just a choker with some rhinestones punched into it.
"I'm actually not sure why I'm still wearing it. Maybe it IS humiliating," She added, after thinking it through a bit more.
Because it made Ty Lee a thing. Jubilee unhooked it, "Well she's not around to see you take it off. You really seriously have a thing for that bitch? Does she ever actually, you know, act like a friend?"
"It's a hard situation, Jubes." Ty Lee sounded a little sad, while still looking upbeat. She took the collar out of Jubilee's hand and bounced down off the beam to go put it in her bag for now. She didn't want to lose it. It was still ... well it might be a humiliating gift but it was still a gift from Azula.
"I know there's someone in there. Someone beautiful. But you have to pretend like you don't know that, because otherwise she pushes you away."
Jubilee watched her partner.. friend really. You don't train that much with someone and not feel for them, "Has she ever shown this? To you? To anyone? Look, The Hotness supports the happiness of her friends, but The Hotness thinks you might be better off with an alligator in your tub. What about..."
She gestured towards the wall, where there was a large gaggle of men who'd come to watch.
"The Hotness is usually right," Ty Lee commented, sadly. She hopped back onto the bar and did another handstand. For some reason, the whole world was just easier to take in from that perspective.
"But there have been times I think she almost did. Was it wishful thinking? I don't know. Azula is a hard nut to crack. I don't think she'd know what to do with real love if she felt it, or if it was directly shown to her. And those guys are all really great..."
She lifted one hand off the bar to wave at the gaggle of men in the corner, without losing her balance, then put it back.
"Maybe I should date one and see how she reacts."
"So you have a deathwish, got it!" Jubilee grinned, joining her in her upsidedown pose. The world did have an interesting perspective from this angle. It didn't change her opinion of Azula or Ty Lee's feelings for her. But she could understand being walloped with emotions and feelings you never expected.
"Does she even do things for fun?"
"She used to play volleyball, but now that she's banned from it, I think she mostly just teases Zuko and shops."
Ty Lee thought about that for a bit as she practiced a flip, and then a twist, "I think she needs a hobby."
Jubilee went through her routine on the balance beam. She'd added a few more difficult flips, relying on using her center of gravity more appropriately. Laura's general advice seemed to help.
"She never comes to watch you. Even my friends come and watch me sometimes." She bent over backwards, stretching herself some more, "What hobbies? Pulling wings off of flies?"
"If she came to watch me, then I'd know that she cared." Ty Lee pointed out. She watched Jubilee do her routine while stretching out on the mat, "That flip is really looking better, by the way."
"Thanks! I met this awesome chica who does parkour. Some of the same principles apply!" She ran through the program again. And then a third time, before getting some water and taking a break. She needed to put in some practice on the uneven bars so she didn't lose her edge there.
"Is that that girl that you dreamed about?" The best thing to do right now was get the subject off of herself. Asking Jubilee questions about this awesome chica was bound to do that.
She bounced in place a bit, then started to go through her floor routine. This was where she really shined, and she was hoping to take home the gold in it, if nothing else. So she had to be as perfect as she could get!
Not AZULA level perfect, but ... as perfect as she could get.
"Maybe." Jubilee finished her drink and limbered herself back up as she watched Ty Lee bounce around the floor. She swore that girl was triple-jointed.
But she wasn't going to just start blurting things about about someone she wasn't interested in like that for serious reals!
"Okay it is." Damn!
Ty Lee certainly wasn't triple-jointed, but she might have been double-jointed in a few places. She'd never really bothered to find out. Her parents wouldn't have taken her to the doctor about it, that was a given. After all, she really WOULD have been a 'circus freak' if she'd been double-jointed. It was bad enough she flipped around all the time.
But that was neither here nor there. This was the present day and Ty Lee was sticking all her landings and having fun, and Jubes was totally admitting that the girl was the one she dreamed about.
"Hah! I bet you two are cute together!" She shouted out as she somersaulted in the air.
Jubilee had a dirty mind. This was a given. Double-jointed is awesome, and that was that.
"Bullshit! She just looks like her!" Exactly like her. So much like her it was kind of scary, "And we're not cute together. She'd look great in black leather though."
Jubilee covered her face, "I'm turning into Kit Kat, blurting shit and everything."
"Is this where I'm supposed to tell you to take her to a whips and chains place?" Ty Lee was sincerely curious. Much of the workings of Jubilee's mind were a mystery to her, "If you'd like her in leather and all..."
"Lolno." Jubilee threw her head back and laughed, "That would be like a fifth date thing."
She was quick to point at Ty Lee, "You're the one with the dog collar. I think you need to be totes worried!"
"I don't know..." Ty Lee leaped into the air and landed with a roll, then bounced right into a handstand and did a little flip. She flopped onto her back afterward, and looked up at the vast ceiling above her.
"It's like ... okay, sure, she put a collar on my neck, and maybe that's her way of telling me that I'm her dog. But I think that's the only way she knows how to be. I don't think she knows how to ... just care about someone and not also own them."
"That is seventeen levels of fucked up, yo." Jubilee bounceflipped over, then flopped to her knees next to Ty Lee, "I mean it sounds like she'd be one of those abusive types. You deserve better than that."
"I don't really know what I deserve. Except of course I really think I deserve a medal this year. Last time I didn't even get to compete." Ty Lee sighed. Azula stuff was ... complicated.
Like if she had a facebook, that's what she'd have to set her status as, because... it was totally complicated.
"This whole thing is screwing up my aura."
"Me neither." Jubilee looked over at the uneven bars, "but we'll get our own golds and we'll get the team gold too. Deal?" She fist bumped Ty Lee, then smacked her on the shoulder, "You ever need me you call, kk? Or Invite me over when the bitch goes out." She grinned, "You know what'll improve your aura? Ice cream."
"Ooo, do you think we can afford some ice cream? I had, like... FOUR sweet dumplings the other day after we bought Zuko, because Azula thinks I"m too thin, but I don't want to get fat, either. I'll fall off the bars!"
Ty Lee got up and went to grab a towel, "I could really use some, though..."
"Get me a towel too!" Jubilee hopped to her feet, following to get her own anyway, "Iunno, maybe you can exercise with Bitchzilla to work off the pounds." She elbowed Ty Lee in the ribs, "We'll be fiiiiine."
And honestly, Ty Lee should probably be defending Azula more. Jubilee was pretty aggressively picking on her friend. Her more than friend. Her... she wasn't sure what she was. The words to come to Azula's defense over bitchiness just never seemed to form.
How do you love someone on one hand and then agree they're a bitch on the other? Or is it just that if you love someone you have to be honest with yourself about who that person really is?
She handed Jubilee a towel, "Azula does like to exercise. We do some martial arts moves she picked up from her father a long time ago sometimes. I probably... but you meant something else."
Jubilee looked at Ty Lee, then snickered, pulled out her phone and googled tribadism. She showed it to the other Gymnast while trying to not go all trollface on her.
No person was perfect, and you couldn't always control the feelings in your heart. The trick was figuring out what that emotion actually was.
"Why do you DO that to me!?" Ty Lee's face flushed pink and she pushed the phone away from her. She started putting things away in her duffel back with mock anger. When she was done and had things packed, she tilted her head to the side and poked her chin with her finger, "Though... I AM pretty bendy. I bet there's all kinds of ways to do that, that are new and fun."
Jubilee cracked up when Ty lee flushed, and then she cracked up when she seemed to be considering it. She beat on the mat and pressed her other hand to her stomach, "Can't...Breathe!"
So much funny!
Ty Lee laughed right along with her!
Jubilee got to her feet, and then tugged Ty Lee along so they could shower before heading out for ice cream.
She pointed at Ty Lee's male entourage, "You can't come." Then dragged her into the back.
