"That’s kind of asking me to go crazy with them, Rei-chan." Who: Aino Minako and Hino Rei What: Rei is home. Minako is excited! When: After this text. Man, we're slow lately! Where: Rei and Minako's place Rating: PG13, at most. It's mostly innocent fluff! Status: Complete.
Rei let out a sigh and carried the box up, struggling only a tiny bit. She felt at peace with herself and this decision. She was a soldier, and a lover, and a woman that held great things and wonderful responsibility. She would live for their princess by living for the ones she loved greatly. The pizza was held on top of the box and there was a case of ramune in the box. She was glad they’d let her ship it home and everything because it would have cost even more to go on the plane. There was about $600 worth in manga and $450 worth of candy in this box and it was for them to share. Mostly for Minako but she knew her lover would share.
Inside the box was a little pink and yellow jewelry box, with a ring inside just waiting to be revealed. She wouldn’t ask things until she found and opened the box. Wanting to see the surprise and glitter in her eyes. Rei wanted to see her smile and wanted her to flail a little. She loved Minako so very much that she wanted her for her own.
Rei wanted to make it known to the world that no one else was allowed to look at her, no one else could hold her heart the way she did.
Minako was excited. Her lover was coming home, and she was back to her awesome self, and she’d brought her things and... well, she was kind of exploding a little over it all. Most about her being back, though - nothing mattered to her more than having her Rei-chan back. She loved her, okay?
And the Goddess of LoveLove didn’t love in half-measures. Especially not when it came to the Senshi of Passion and Flames. Her logic was fairly simple, and actually made sense: you couldn’t have passion without love. The two relied on each other too heavily to allow for it.
She stepped out the door, eyes widening when she saw the size of that box. “Rei-chan... do you need a hand with that? I can help!”
Sailor V to the rescue! Or something.
“No. No it’s fine!” She giggled and got the box down into the center of the room. The moment the box was down she turned around for the exact location of her goddess and pulled her into a passionate and deep kiss, holding her lower back and tangling a hand in her hair. Of course you couldn't have any other way. They were meant for each other, meant to mix and complete the other.
Rei knew that now, and she was going to do her best to be a loyal, happy, patient, understanding, and dutiful person. A lover, a soldier, a friend. When she finally broke the kiss she ran her fingers through her hair. “I missed you... So very much.”
You couldn’t have Mars without Venus. It was just one of those things! However, Minako wasn’t going to say it, just because she’d likely get her planets mixed up... somehow. She had her ways of screwing up all the best-known sayings! “I missed you too... this place is lonely when it’s just me and Artemis.”
Artemis had taken to sitting by the door and waiting. So much for him not actually liking Rei!
“Where is that kitty anyway?” She made an urk face when suddenly cat on her shoulder using claws. The only difference now was she didn't get angry, didn’t react poorly. Instead she pulled away from Minako and picked him up from over her shoulders and gently scratched under his chin. “Hello to you too... You took good care of Minako, right?”
He made a happy meow and head butted her cheek before nuzzling with purrs and jumping off to go catch a fly that was buzzing around the room. “Come on. Let’s get you looking in the big box!” Rei took her hand and sat her on the couch before dragging the box to sit in front of her. “HERE!”
Rei was actually getting along with Artemis? The end of the world had to be right around the corner! Things like that didn’t just happen... obviously, that retreat had done Rei a lot of good.
“...Man. This box is almost as big as me!” Overstating the facts a little, perhaps, but that was Minako’s way! Or, well, one of her ways. “It’s gonna take me forever to go through, isn’t it?”
“Quite possibly... But. There’s a lot and I want you to see every inch of it with me here!” Smiled and leaned back into the cushion, Artemis coming to sit on her lap. Sure might meant the end of the world but she was at peace.
She chuckled when he began pummelling. “I think he likes me right now.”
“He missed you, so of course!” Minako moved to get the box open, still more than a little curious about its contents. How much had Rei spent on this? More importantly, what kind of specialness lay within?
She could only wait and see, really... “I’ve never seen him so sad. Normally, he’s fine with just me, but...”
Rei chuckled and gently pet from head to just above the kitties tail. “I missed him two. Even if I have a really strong urge to own two black birds. Would you be okay with that? I can make sure to find tame ones...” Oh if only if her Goddess of LoveLove could see with xray vision... She sighed and handed her a box opener.
“Ooh. Like the crows you get around Shinto shrines sometimes?” Let it be said that Minako, sometimes, said things that made her bubbly and oblivious exterior seem... well, rather ridiculous. She had her occasional clever and insightful moments! “As long as they’re good birds, I’m okay with that. Artemis has never really tried to eat any...”
Artemis was the best cat ever, okay? Accepting the box opener from Rei, she moved to get that box open... and made a very giddy noise at all she saw inside. “Omigosh. This is awesome.”
“Yes, like the one at the shrines. I really... feel I need to have two of them for myself. I don’t know why.. I just feel I do need to.” And then the box was opened and he couldn’t help but smile. “Go on, look through all the items. One by one if you have to!”
Rei’s nerves were suddenly spiked higher than she would have liked them to be really. She looked at her lover and just gave a contented smile.
“But that’d take forever...” Minako mock-pouted. That quickly dissolved into a grin as she pretty much dove into the box, more than a little excited to see what her lover’d gotten her. “You’re the best person ever, you know...”
Sure, she’d been gone for what felt like ages, but she’d gotten her stuff. Awesome stuff. “Ooh! I’ve been trying to find this volume of this manga for ages!”
Rei was slowly getting more and more nervous as things went on. So much more now that the little pink and black box with the ring in it was now able to be seen from under the corner of one of the boxes. “I know. Made sure to get ones that weren’t even out yet over here for you.”
Minako giggled, shifting to press a quick kiss against Rei’s cheek. “That’s why you’re best.” Catching sight of the little box, she suddenly became very, very interested... but it was beneath stuff. Which was sad, really, but... she could deal with the stuff on top first, right?
LOGIC. Not always Minako’s strong point, but today was a day she could definitely manage it!
“ Guess so.” Her ignoring the box right now was not helping her plight of nervousness in the slightest. “And there’s a lot of candy for us too. If you will share at least.”
“Of course I’ll share! Even I have my limits, Rei-chan...” True, they were stupidly insane limits, but they were limits nonetheless! “We can split it down the middle. Half each!”
Or, well, three-quarters for Minako, whatever was left for Rei. It’d be more accurate.
Rei chuckled and looked to her, the cat moving off to do his business. “You just eat whatever and I will take what’s left, Mina-chan.”
And that was why Rei was awesomes, in Minako’s humble opinion. “That’s kind of asking me to go crazy with them, Rei-chan.”
The fiery woman began to just laugh and leaned over to take the three boxes of candy she wanted from the start. “There... now go crazy.” In taking those boxes it showed more of the jewelry box and Rei sucked her breath in quickly.
Minako may well have bounced in her seat. Candy! All the candy! This was going to be awesome, even if she’d probably have to share them with her coworkers at the radio station - hey, even the Goddess of Love had her limits! “You’re the best, Rei-chan~.”
Ooh, and now she could actually get to that little jewellery box! She reached in and pulled it out, more than a little curious. “Is this something you want to do something ~special~ with?”
“Quite possibly...” Rei moved in right next to her. She wasn’t a woman of many words, far from it at best. She simply wrapped a hand to hold around her hips and the other to lift the lid to show the ring. Written in Kanji is simply ‘Will you...’ and nothing more. Instead she leaned in to kiss her temple. “Marry me....”
For a brief moment, Minako’s brain may have completely stopped working. How hadn’t she seen this coming? Was she really that bad a Goddess of LoveLove? Maybe that was what Adonis had meant when he’d been talking about her skills with love... or maybe not, she didn’t put much stock in what that guy’d said.
“Rei-chan...” And when her brain had finally kicked back into gear, she yanked her into a kiss, as passionate as she could muster.
She kissed back just as passionately and smiled, reaching to slip the ring on her fingers without breaking the kiss once. After a short while, Rei pulled away. “I’m taking that as a yes!”
Minako giggled. “Duh. I thought you were meant to be the clever one!”
“Hey! I still have a bit of jetlag...” Pouted at her. That was entirely the truth. You don’t go clear across the globe and back without ending up feeling a little ill.
Aw, pouting Rei-chan was adorable. In Minako’s eyes, at least! “I’ll help you feel better~. Not Nurse Minako, because I know that scares you, buuuut... something just as awesome!”
At the mention of Nurse Minako she inched away and turned a little pale. Nurse Minako was scary as fuck sometimes, meant in the nicest way possible of course.
Minako pouted. Like a pro. “Fine, fine, no Nurse Minako...”
Rei chuckled at the pouting and just shook her head. “You’re adorable...”
Minako grinned, bouncing slightly where she sat. “I’m the Goddess of LoveLove, Rei-chan. Adorable is part of the job description~”
