The clack of bo staffs rang through the room. It wasn't the natural deflection, nor the tone that Obi had adopted. It was Obi backing up. Somehow, Loras knew the man wasn't afraid of him, but he did seem afraid, and Loras was not a man to go after someone unless he had a good point to prove. Beating him here in the practice room wold prove nothing.
"Then what?" he asked, arming sweat from his forehead (it wasn't from exertion). He did not lean against the bo, but he held it at his side, standing it straight up. He waved his free hand in a gesture that said Don't answer. Loras already knew the answer: "The strange things. Right?"
