He felt the impact of the hit in his belly. It was a good hit, not like most beginners, and he wondered if Obi had ever taken self defense lessons that weren't on the streets. Loras suppressed a wince when the bag came back at him. More than once or twice, one of these bags had knocked Loras straight on his ass.
"That's what your guard is for," he answered, rounding the bag again. This was just a warm up anyway, but stance was the most important part of fighting. "Don't let it down and it won't let you down." With that, Loras walked over to one of the shelves and took down a pair of punching mitts. Before he put them on, he moved to where Obi stood and explained stance more in depth.
"Put your weight on your front leg and pivot with your back. Make sure to pivot from the waist. Bring your fists in front of you," he instructed, demonstrating by bringing up his fists, level with his shoulders.
