Roland's eyes squinted a little. He nodded, just so the stranger would have clarification. "My name is Roland," he said, offering over his hand as formal meeting. It felt unnatural to shake peoples' hands, but it was the most acceptable gesture. Sometimes, Roland saw people, mostly men, greeting each other with upraised middle fingers and thought that to be one of the more odd fashions of greeting ceremonies.
