The waiting was too long. Azula couldn’t pace, and she couldn’t go back there, she could only wait, and read. It was nervewracking. This was her fault. It really wasn’t but she blamed herself anyway. When she wasn’t pissed at Ty Lee.

Oh, she was pissed at her. It was irrational and unfair, but she still was. She just got over that enough to want to cling onto Ty Lee forever.

Ty Lee blamed herself entirely. The whole thing was too long and it hurt on a level she didn’t really know how to deal with. She felt horrible when she was shown out, with her pills and her list of things to do and her appointment to come in for another check up.

She looked a little lost, even after she spotted Azula and made her way over.

Azula got up, wrapping her arms around Ty Lee. “Are you ready to go? I want to leave this place. It smells like the hospital.”

Ty Lee nodded and hugged her tight. “It does. I want to go now.” She didn’t want to let go of Azula, but eventually she did, and offered Azula her hand. “Can we get ice cream on the way home?”

“Yes...” She nodded her head. It took a full minute to prepare herself for the protestors. She didn’t want to incinerate someone, and she could easily get angry enough to do so. Right. Better person. Got hang back. Better person. No incinerating people. She took Ty lee’s hand and led her outside.

Ty Lee was having a hard time not crying. She wished Azula would incinerate them. They’d asked her on the way in to what they’d need to do to make her choose life. How could they even ask her that?

She got into the passenger seat, staring straight ahead. She hoped one of them got run over. It would make her feel better.

Azula's response had been to turn one of their signs to ash. She started the car and floored it, peeling out of the parking lot. There was an ice cream place on the way home, and she made a beeline for it. She didn't say anything, simply held Ty Lee's hand with her reattached right hand. It might be shaking a little, and the fire princess felt like she was on the verge of a nervous break down.

She wasn’t the only one. Ty Lee was quiet, but held on to Azula’s hand tight. She watched the scenery change again, and slowly began to calm down. “I’m sorry I caused you so much trouble.”

They could break down together, Azula thought. She'd be okay with that. "No, don't say that, you didn't..." She exhaled. "Please don't think that you cause me trouble... I only want to be with you."

“I only want that too. It’s all I’ve wanted since my second week as your bodyguard.” Ty Lee tried to remember the slightly less insane times they’d had at the start, before Azula got shot and it went to Hell. “Will it be okay, now? You and Zuko and Iroh will make it all work out, right? And none of this has to ever happen again?”

“We’ll make it work out,” Azula said. She didn’t really have the stomach for any of it anymore, herself. She looked down at her hand as she turned the car off at the ice cream place. “Too much is at stake not to.”

Ty Lee nodded and kissed Azula’s hand. “Maybe Zuko’s right. Maybe it’s time we gave up our lives of crime. I think I know someone who could help.”

“Yes? Who could help?” She pulled Ty Lee inside, and put her arm around her. She wanted Ty Lee to move very carefully. She wasn’t seething anymore. Now she just felt empty.

Ty Lee wrapped her arm around Azula in return. “A lady with Interpol. She offered immunity for you, Zuko, and I if we turned in Iroh.” She said all that before they got to the display cases full of ice cream.

“...what?” Azula stopped cold, turning to look at Ty Lee. “Really? Are you really talking about betraying my Uncle?” Normally she wouldn’t bat an eye about that sort of thing, but after everything that had been happening, the thought made her stomach turn.

“I think he would approve, given the circumstances.” Ty Lee said softly. “He keeps saying he wants you to have a happy life, than he wants to redeem the family, let him put his money where his mouth is. If we don’t have immunity and that woman finds Iroh anyway we won’t be able to stay together.”

Azula frowned. "I don't like it, not like that." She looked at the icecream, and wondered about it. "What if we told him about this. Arrange a meeting with this Interpol. A trap. Find out what she has, and get rid of it. We might not even have to hurt her."

Ty Lee thought about that. “It only works if she doesn’t share information with her superiors, and if it backfires we’ll be in much worse trouble. I know that Iroh isn’t as bad as Ozai, but I won’t risk our safety for his.”

Azula closed her eyes. "The man I dream about..is a much kinder and honorable man. He would turn himself over willingly, but we cannot count on that with this one. So we lay a trap, for the trap. If the agent has shared her information, then we help her take my uncle. If she hasn't, then he can destroy what she has, and scare her off."

Ty Lee considered that, then nodded. “Okay. We’ll do it your way.” She just hoped it would go okay. “I’d like rocky road ice cream.” It seemed appropriate.

“I love you,” Azula breathed. “We’ll contact my uncle, and arrange the trap for this cop...and then arrange our trap as a back up.”

“I love you too.” She gave Azula a kiss, stroking her face and hair softly. “Now pick your flavor, so we can get going and plan this out right.”

“Mint chocolate chip,” Azula decided, leaning into the kiss and beaming a little bit. It felt so... so normal.

Ty Lee had no idea what normal was, but she was happy as long as she got to stay with Azula. “Mmmm, I might steal a lick or two.” She said with a giggle.

“We can trade licks,” Azula promised her, voice deep and suggestive.

Ty Lee shivered. “Not for another two weeks, unfortunately. But we’ll have lots of fun afterward.” She smiled again.

“Two weeks?” Azula physically paled. It had been over a week after her own injuries, and when she’d been healed enough, she’d practically ripped Ty Lee’s clothing off.

Two weeks? She might literally die.

“Yeah.” Ty Lee nodded. “I’m not excited about it, either.” She made a face. “But I can still serve you, and that makes me quite happy.” It wouldn’t be exactly like Azula’s injury.

“...Serve me?” She blinked, face reddening. “Ty Lee, you don’t need to do anything. I couldn’t make you do anything.”

“You won’t, either.” Ty Lee leaned in, so her mouth was right against Azula’s ear, her voice so soft only Azula would be able to hear it. “If you think I’m going a day without tasting you, Azula, you are wrong. There is nothing I want more than to feel your soft, wet skin under my mouth.”

Knees wobbling, Azula had to lean against the counter. “Ty Lee....” Hearing those words, in public, with that tone of voice, it made it really hard for the blood to stay in her head.

Ty Lee kissed Azula’s cheek, pressing her just slightly against the counter. She did enjoy toying with Azula, and talking about sex wasn’t talking about other things, which made it the best possible plan.

She couldn’t agree more. The abortion, the Fire Nation, Iroh...Azula forgot about all of it. The person at the counter cleared his throat. He was blushing furiously. “Uhm. Your orders are ready, ma’ams?”

Ty Lee laughed and nodded. “Yes. Thanks!” She beamed at the guy and pulled out her wallet to pay, still pinning Azula to the counter. She reached over Azula, so her body was pressed against her lover’s.

Azula closed her eyes, savoring the feel of Ty Lee’s body. She wasn’t sure if her wife was up to anything right now, physically, but she wasn’t going to complain. She had to bite her lip to keep from making a sound.

Ty Lee handed over Azula’s ice cream and smiled. “Let’s go home. I want to take a shower and relax.” After finishing up all her snacks.

“Yes...you need both. Then I will rub your feet.” She could do that much, and took the ice cream in one hand, and Ty Lee’s hand in the other. “I love you...” She was going to speed so very much.

Still, she could get Ty Lee back, and whispered in her ear, “I’m not wearing underwear.”

Ty Lee whimpered softly. Azula could be so mean, sometimes. She smiled and led the way out of the shop.
