Who: Sebastian and Zevran.
What: Meeting for the first time.
When: Wednesday afternoon.
Where: The mall.
Rating: R for Zev being in it. It’s how he rolls.
Status: Complete!

Sebastian had been in a good mood all day. He’d just gotten off the phone with Yelena after his morning run, and she’d been able to beg off her last four days of shooting. Which meant she was flying to Los Angeles from Hong Kong tonight, instead of Wednesday. He’d spent the whole day peppy and excited, and now he was headed to the mall to pick up a few things, both intimate and normal.

Zevran was also at the mall, shopping for things while they were on sale for Mother’s Day. Because his dog was fond of cashmere throws, and Zev didn’t want to pay full price. Obviously. He was dressed in jeans that were tight enough to be a second skin, leather boots, and a sleeveless shirt that had made two salespeople blush. As he looked at scarves, he wondered if Roy would want one.

Sebastian had a similar idea about something new for himself, and had headed toward the accessory department. He’d lost his watch, and needed a new one that wasn’t as costly as the one he’d brought from Inverness. As he rounded the corner past the scarves and socks, he almost ran into a man, and apologized hastily. “Sorry, mate, got my head in th - oh.” He blinked, chuckling. “I know your face. And it is your face.” There were other parts he could have said, but they were in public.

Someone almost bumped into him, but Zev didn’t mind. It was a very handsome someone, and Zev smiled. Oh, and he was Scottish, too. Smirking when he was recognized, Zev bowed. “I appreciate the recognition all the same, friend.”

He chuckled. “In truth, my girlfriend was a fan first, but I’ve grown to appreciate your work.” This bloke was inventive, to be sure. “My name’s Sebastian. You’ve taught me a few moves, I daresay.”

“I am Zevran, and I am glad to instruct at all times!” He shook the other man’s hand, cocking his head in polite recognition. “I should send some gifts to your lady friend as well.”

“Not sure if I’d want that or not.” Sebastian chuckled, though; he was only teasing. Anything that would benefit his own sex life couldn’t be that bad. “No, I’m sure she’d appreciate it, actually. Yelena’s told me she’d want you if she didn’t have me.” He wasn’t threatened by that, though; he’d read that this Zevran was engaged.

Zev smiled and bowed his head slightly. “Alas, Miss Yelena would be disappointed if she persisted. My Roy would likely be upset if she tried anything.” The shorter man grinned brightly, obviously smitten.

Sebastian chuckled. “I thought you were engaged. Congratulations, though I almost feel I ought to apologise for reading it somewhere. I know what it’s like to have your business in the papers.”

“I am, yes, and it’s honestly not a problem. I do not worry about my public image too much.” Zev wasn’t too worried about it; he was a porn star. How good could his public image be?

“Still, so many people have their privacy ruined just because they’re in the papers; I’ve always thought it was a bit unfair.” He chuckled. “My da’s a member of the House of Lords, and my girlfriend is a model, so we see it a lot!”

“I’m on television now, so I suppose I’ve invited it into my house.” Zev winced, running his fingers through his hair. “I have no room to complain.”

“Are you now?” Sebastian laughed. “I’ll have to tell Yelena, if nothing else. She thinks your dog is almost as handsome as you are.”

“Oh, she is a fan of the dog! You know, I knew either he or my fiancé would become the breakaway star.” Zev grinned proudly, obviously not caring that he wasn’t the object of Yelena’s affections.

Sebastian chuckled. “I’ve forgotten the dog’s name, I’m sorry. But yes, she keeps saying she’ll want one just like him when we get a place together.” Whenever that might be. Her shooting schedule kept her globetrotting eight bloody months of the year, after all.

“Buddah. I got him from a shelter. She may not like one just like him, as he does drool an awful lot, but still.” Zev chuckled. “He is one of a kind.”

“Well, I might gently get her to reconsider. But a similar breed, perhaps, as he’s very handsome.” Sebastian chuckled. He briefly wondered if he ought to go on, then decided it was safe as long as he kept it lighthearted. “I had the oddest dream recently, and part of it was having an enormous wolfhound as a pet. He was rather sweet, if I recall.”

“He’s mostly bulldog, I suspect.” Zevran smiled, then cocked his head to the side. “You have dreams? Really?” He wondered if this man meant Dreams.

“Not often. A couple of bloody vivid ones lately, though. It was the damnedest thing.” Sebastian wondered why it seemed a big deal.

“What were they about? It’s a common thing here, to have vivid dreams. Sometimes they come true, which is the truly mad part!” Zev hoped his new friend didn’t think he was crazy now.

“Come true?” Sebastian echoed, raising an eyebrow. “How’s that so?” Maybe some mad coincidences, but that had to be all.

“I woke up one morning and I knew how to fight. And well. This is coming from me - I have always been a lover and not a fighter.” Zev shrugged to himself.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “How completely odd.” He shook his head. “My dreams weren’t anything that ... dramatic. I was the wastrel son of a prince, instead of the wastrel son of a peer.” He smiled a little crookedly.

That made Zevran laugh. “I was an elf. So quite odd.” But it explained his petite stature.

“An elf, really.” That got a chuckle out of Sebastian. “Haven’t you done a film or two in a fantasy style?” One of them, if it had been Zevran’s and not some other actor’s, had been bloody hilarious. He’d been laughing too hard to shag.

“So I have!” He chuckled. “I have no idea why there is a market for such things, but there is. I was laughing too hard for most of the scenes. There was more blooper material than the movie, in the end.”

“Doesn’t shock me. Yelena and I were bloody howling. Hope you either sacked whoever wrote the dialogue, or found them a job in comedy.” Sebastian smiled, remembering. “Really, as silly as it might sound, some of your films have been lovely memories for us.”

“I did not work with them again. And that doesn’t sound silly at all. It is not why I got into the business, but it is part of why I stayed.” Over the years, Zevran had gotten a number of touching letters - he’d helped a lot of people achieve their first orgasms, rekindled relationships. That was powerful for him.

He smiled a little wider. “That’s rather nice, actually. I can see why it would make you feel good.” Sebastian leaned his back against a pillar. “If you don’t mind my asking, would you have kept on, if you hadn’t gotten engaged? I can’t imagine a fiance who’d be pleased if you continued, obviously, but if it was still only your decision to make?”

“I would have, yes. I stopped because I wanted to be only for him, but I do not regret being only for him. I still help people, with my directing, but if I were alone, I would still act. I am not sacrificing anything because I have Roy. If that makes sense.” Zev felt himself blushing a little from the sentiment.

“Makes perfect sense to me, mate.” Sebastian smiled. “I hope it wasn’t rude to ask. Just I remembered reading about you getting engaged, and I just imagined Yelena if that was what I did for a living!”

Zev grinned. “She would likely be upset with you. Or pleased. It tends to go one of those ways.”

“Well, whichever your fiance thinks, I do hope it works out, mate. We’re all just looking for the one, aren’t we?” It was half joking, but only half. Sebastian had admitted to himself a while ago that finding the right woman and settling down would be nice; he just wasn’t sure if he’d found the right woman yet. Or he ever would.

“Oh, Roy enjoys me all to himself.” Zev smiled and looked down. “You know, until I met him, I never thought I would marry at all.”

“Truly?” Sebastian had always sort of imagined he’d find someone. It was just a question of when or where. He hadn’t given up that optimism. He might as well have curled up and died.

“Of course. My parents were very sad people and didn’t get love. I thought perhaps I would be the same way.” It was just a matter of fact for Zev.

“I’m sorry to hear it.” Sebastian didn’t think it appropriate to comment on any further. He shook his head. “I’m bloody glad to hear all seems well now, though!” He smiled, looking down. “I should probably not take up any more of your time. But if there’s ever anything I can do for you, you ought to look me up. We can go round for drinks sometime.”

“I would like that very much!” Zev rifled through his wallet and pulled out a (rather tasteful) business card, handing it over. “My mobile number is on there as well. It is wonderful to hear you speak, you remind me of someone from Starkhaven in my dreams.” He didn’t know many people from Starkhaven in the dreams, but he heard them sometimes.

Sebastian froze. “From where?”

“Starkhaven. They were a small country, near Ferelden.” Zevran shrugged. “My dreams are ... very specific.”

Sebastian felt his blood run cold - cliche, but apt. “My father is Lord Starkhaven. And I dreamt I was the prince of Starkhaven.” When he’d been talking about his dreams. “I had two brothers, and I was the baby. The wastrel.”

Zevran blinked. “I heard rumors about him! Into leather and bondage!”

Damn it all, Sebastian refused to blush. “Did you now? You mean in the dreams?” That would be rather amusing, if he was well known all around some new world.

The shorter man nodded. “His name was Sebast - oh my! Are we dream friends?” Zev laughed. “There are two women here who I dreamed I had a foursome with.”

“I didn’t dream of you.” Sebastian shook his head, though he was still both amused and confused. He guffawed when Zevran spoke about his foursome, though. “Really! Have you met them? Or just seen them?”

“I have met with them. One of them is a dear friend. They both dreamed of me as well.” It made Zevran blush to speak of.

It amused Sebastian that there was something that could still make this man blush. “What are the odds?” He wondered if he’d have dreams more like that. He could do with that, instead of the awkward ones dealing with family and lack thereof.

“Maybe you’ll have dreams like that,” Zev smiled. “They would be a nice change, no?”

“I would rather that than strange family issues in my head.” Sebastian shrugged, shaking his head. “But I shouldn’t take up any more of your time.” Maybe he’d get Yelena a gift. It had been a while.

“I look forward to speaking with you soon. Perhaps we can discuss the dreams further.” Zev bowed his head slightly before moving to look for a gift for Roy. Just because.
