Claire could be like that, too. She could easily get so wrapped up in a experiment that she forgot to notice she was hungry or even tired. When she was trying to solve a problem, it was hard to think outside of her work, which made her a good scientist in her own right, even if it had earned her some stern looks in the past from her friends.
She turned toward the voice that had asked if she was lost and smiled as she shook her head. "Not anymore, but 5 minutes ago I really could have used a tour guide," she admitted. Remembering her manners, she extended a hand a half minute later. "I'm Claire, by the way. If it's not at all obvious, this is my first day."
