The oil drills that have shown up aren't drills. They're Earth Reapers and they're mining to the Earth's core to strip it of its natural resources. The weather right now is related to how much of the magma core has already been affected.

The problem is that in dismantling them will bring about something even worse. Yet they need to be stopped.

I'm not sure on everyone's specific strengths, however the weather going on is a precursor for something worse.

The one thing that should work requires a lot of magic, cooperative magic at that.
