I've been having sort of flashbacks. Little blips of images. I see Scotty, dressed like he is in that big apple store dream but he's not wet. I see Uhura. We're at a bar and I think I hit on her but things go by too fast. She's wearing red. I see my brother, only he looks a little different. He's wearing some weird school uniform.
There's a disturbing one where I keep hearing my father's voice. I can't make out what he's saying. But I know its his voice. He sounds bittersweet.
Then there are the dreams. I'll start with some others before I bring up the one I seem to share with Scotty.
The first one, I'm sneaking through the dark. It has to be night. There's this..flying saucer and I sneak on board. And steal it. I must be fifteen or so. I'm screaming through the air with hover cop cars chasing after me. It's awesome!
The second one has McCoy in it. Everyone around us (including Uhura) is there in red, and McCoy and I introduce ourselves. I feel hopeful, and also like I got the shit beat out of me.
He was like "I may throw up on ya." And I was like "I think these things are pretty safe." So he replied "Don't pander to me, kid. One tiny crack in the hull and our blood boils in thirteen seconds. Solar flare might crop up, cook us in our seats. And wait'll you're sitting pretty with a case of Andorian shingles, see if you're still so relaxed when your eyeballs are bleeding. Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence."
So I respond "Well, I hate to break this to you, but Starfleet operates in space."
And McCoy said, "Yeah. Well, I got nowhere else to go. The ex-wife took the whole damn planet in the divorce. All I got left is my bones."
In one Gaila says she thinks she loves me while we're making out. I tell her that's so weird. Someone comes in and interrupts us and Gaila hides me under the bed. Uhura, you look fantastic when you change clothing. Just so you know. You're clothing is red again.
I'm standing at a podium. Its like I'm on trial at the Principle's office and the entire class is behind me. I'm accused of cheating, and I ask to face my accuser, and Spock stands up. We're arguing about whether I cheated or the test was an intentional cheat. Spock was saying that fear was a necessary for command. I was arguing that a scenario in which there was no way to win was not fair. There is always a way to win. Someone interrupts us. There's some kind of distress signal and we're needed to respond. The dream ends there.
There's one where I'm really sick. I think McCoy injected something in me and we're in one of those shuttles again and he's making me look at something. It looked a lot like Gaila's drawing, actually. We flew past it, and over it and into a docking bay.
There's the one where Sulu is falling and I'm jumping after him, and my parachute fails.
I'm sitting in that chair from the apple store, and the whole store, or ship or whatever is shaking like its in a hurricane. We're being sucked into something. Some kind of whirlpool or black hole. I have Scotty on a radio from the chair and he's saying we can't make it and I'm demanding he figure out a way. I don't understand the jargon but he comes up with something, and the store starts to crack in half so I'm yelling at him to just do it!
