It's still here on the Enterprise, so either they're multiplying or there's more than one.

Maybe a bit. But also this is the sort of thing I dig into usually. The weird things like monoliths showing up out of nowhere.

My scans have proven inconclusive. There's nothing in there that's detectable. But I think that's less a mystery than what's happening elsewhere.
