[Phone call to Mary]
When Laurence had first heard of the demons that had infiltrated the county, his first thought had been to don his combat uniform and collect a sidearm. It was only after he had finished changing, musing to himself that it would nearly be amusing how commonplace such things were becoming if only they were not so dangerous, that he recalled Mary. Mary, who had only just started to dream, and still seemed skeptical of the whole thing.
A rush of worry suddenly filled him, and he hoped, as he dialed her number, that she had not already gone out into the melee thinking that it truly was some harmless advertising campaign.
[Phone call to Spencer]
Once he hung up the phone with Mary, he dialed Spencer's number. Though she was far more familiar with these sort of affair, she still had very little combat training, and he needed to be sure that she was safe.
