[Backdated to July 18] [A cactus was waiting for Veronica on her desk in the morning, along with a note]
Happy Birthday, V. Leon
Although it was her birthday Veronica still had to work. She walked into her office only to see a cactus on her desk. Even without reading the note she knew exactly who it was from. Pulling out her phone she typed in a text to Leon.
>> A cactus? >> Did is miss the memo that today’s your birthday?
[Leon] >> I thought you could use something to brighten up your office >> And so you’d have something as prickly as you to talk to
[Veronica] >> That’s what I have you for
[Leon] >> What the hell’s that supposed to mean? >> I’m not prickly.
[Veronica] >> Hate to break it to you, Orcot >> But you kind of are
[Leon] >> Just enjoy the damn cactus, alright?
[Veronica] >> Just what I’ve always wanted
[Leon] >> You don’t even have to water it >> Well, not often at least.
[Veronica] >> I have a son >> I think I can manage taking care of a cactus
[Leon] >> I don’t know >> It’s not like cactuses can let you know when they’re hungry.
[Veronica] >> Neither can a baby >> And this is why you’re not allowed to babysit
[Leon] >> Okay, maybe they can’t talk >> But they can cry >> And do all the damn time >> Plants scream way less.
[Veronica] >> Thanks for the lesson on how babies works >> What would I do without you?
[Leon] >> Apparently wait for it to talk to you.
[Veronica] >> Because that’s exactly what I have been doing these past 14 months
