I did know 5 years ago that I wanted to be a history professor, but at that time I'd already been one for about 10 years, so it's a little different.
When I was your age, though, I had no idea that's what I wanted to do. It wasn't until Ruby was born that I decided to actually get an education so I could get a legit job to help support her and Yang. If it hadn't been for them, I have no idea where I would have ended up. Probably in jail.
The experience of being at college is valuable, absolutely, especially if it's your first time away from home. But it also gives you the chance to figure yourself out. Did you originally come here because that was expected of you, or did you at least have an idea what it was you wanted to study?
