(OOC: The following phone call takes place a few hours after this )
Phone call to Frank
Joe: Hey, Frank. Don’t freak out, but I need you to come and pick me up from the police station, ok?
Frank: The Irvine police station? What did you do now happened?
Joe: It’s kind of a long story. I also need a change of clothes, please.
Frank: Okay, now I’m curious. Are you being charged with anything?
Joe: No. I didn’t do anything. Stefan and I were out having a drink to celebrate signing the papers for Rainbow Motors. There was this guy sitting at the table next to us and he got a call that really upset him and he got up to leave. Stefan and I followed him out and found him in the alley next to the bar. [Pause] Someone shot him. I kinda have his blood all over me.
Frank: I’m packing a bag for you right now. [The sounds of drawers being closed] Did you see who shot him? Anyone fleeing the scene?
Joe: Not really. We got there after the guy was shot. There was someone there, but I didn’t get a good look. Whoever it was took off, but I couldn’t go after them.
Frank: Damn, Joe. I’m guessing the police took you in as a witness? Are you okay?
Joe: Yeah, I just finished giving my statement. They gave me the whole “don’t leave town” line. I’m….fine, I guess? Better than Stefan, at least.
Frank: That’s right! [He pauses, considering Joe’s location and who might overhear their conversation] I know how Stefan is around blood.
Joe: Yeeeaaah. He’s doing better now but…[Pause as if Joe is searching for what to say without actually having to say it]...it fucked with him pretty bad. I dunno if he should really be on his own, y’know? Mind giving us both a lift?
Frank: Of course. It might be better if he stayed over for a bit anyway. At least until he’s...feeling better. Do you want me to bring him something to change into as well?
Joe: He managed to stay clear of the blood, thankfully.
Frank: There! Clothing bag packed. I’ll be on the road in a minute or two. Are you sure you don’t need me to stop and get bail money?
Joe: No...no bail money. Thanks, Frank.
Frank: That’s what older brothers are for, Joe. See you soon.
Joe: See you soon.
