"I'll believe it." Elijah chuckled, shaking his head. "It did keep things interesting. Younger siblings may feel a bit overwhelming, but I can't say I regret their being there." He'd spent most of his life watching out for them and keeping them out of too much trouble. He couldn't always protect them, but he could at least be there if they needed him.
Elijah's issues with his parents came from their treatment of his siblings. His father in particular had proven himself not to be fit when it came to Kol and Niklaus in specific. He would not let him hurt them again like that. Not even if it meant stepping between them and taking any blows himself. He hadn't protected them from it before, but he would now.
