That Saturday had dawned particularly fine. Jack felt it was a prime opportunity to learn more about the organisation which had invited him into their ranks. He wandered through some of the streets surrounding the address on the summons he had received. Jack had nearly decided to return to his own home when a child's giggle echoed through the morn.
Before he knew it, Jack was through the gate and at his daughter's side. So real was the illusion that he didn't heed the rational part of his brain that tried to convince him his family was dead and buried.
"Papa! Mama will be so happy to see you!"
Without a second thought, Jack followed his daughter into the house. The slamming of the door behind him quickly brought Jack to his senses.
