"You may, sir," rejoined Fr Antoine, "But I am afraid you will find the rest of us just as clueless as yourself." The intriguing nature of the situation had helped to still the priest's nerves and he removed his hand from his pocket, instead, combing a hand through his hair in a gesture of both agitation and pondering.
"There only appear to be two facts in the matter," he said, looking to everyone. "The first is that the person is lured here by some sort of illusory device. The second is that, once lured, the person is trapped. The house is impervious, as Mrs. Fry tells me. I believe that regardless of acquaintance or otherwise, we are obliged to work together to escape this...ah, unfortunate situation, no?"
