For those of you in the Purifiers plot who have their pups currently detained by the big bads, I'm just giving a heads up that the place that Ares and Cass' group raided tonight was not the main base, if there even IS a main base. Your pups might have been rescued, they might not have. That's up to you.

:D Thanks go out to the players in that thread. It went wonderfully.

So, sometime this afternoon- likely at the worst possible moment during the first basketball game on, so about 1:30, 2:00 EST- Jesus held a presidential press conference, as suggested by Damien. Basically, it was a political non-answer focusing on America's tolerance, equality legislation, and (because this was obviously written by someone else) freedom of speech, disagreements being what makes America so great, etc.

That's about the first five minutes. Then, something comes on the prompter that he has to read to himself a couple times, and he deadpans into the camera.

"Look. I'm gettin' as damn sick of this party line crap as the rest of you. I want all of you pure humans to listen up for a minute: those 'abominations' you're harming? Are my friends. An' you're doing to them exactly what happened t'me, the first time around. They're more like me than you'll ever be, an' frankly, I'm ashamed you're usin' Our name as an excuse. You fu-"

And, as is the case in any 'live' political broadcast gone wrong, of course, the coverage cuts to commercial, with the station coming back to say there were technical difficulties, and the conference has since ended.

Jesus is fine, and will be- at least until his press secretary gets to him.

The purpose behind this? Hopefully, hearing from a religious figure that hatred and torture is bad will wake a few of the brainwashed/less fanatical zealots give in and let people go/turn themselves in/join the good fight. This isn't to say that all, or even most, of the Purifiers would listen, but if someone needs a convenient way to get their pup let go, religious awakening seemed as good as any.
