What: Meeting, explaining newness, etc.
Where: Bryant Park, NYC
Warnings: None.
Delia sat on the steps leading to Bryant Park, near the corner of 42nd and 5th as she'd told the guy online. She didn't even bother to get his name - he could be an ax murderer or something, for all she knew. Weren't they the ones who tried to get girls to meet them all the time? Not that she'd ever heard of one using the idea of an alternative universe as a shtick before. It really didn't matter though, so long as he knew the best way out of the city that didn't involve closed spaces surrounded by people.
Head down, she continued to stare at the website he'd offered her, and had to admit the idea made more sense than anything else. She'd been far, far far away from cities 20 minutes ago, and now she was smack in the middle of one. She could feel the panic rising, and spent most of her energy trying to think of anything else, to keep it at bay, and to not think of that last fire...she'd been doing so, so well. Maybe that one hadn't been her fault... |
