It wasn't often that she could surprise the Goddamn Nightwing so bad that he came running into a room. Had Carrie's mind not been whirling, she probably would have been amused. As it was, she was trying very hard to not overreact.

"What's this?" Carrie asked, knowing the answer to the question. She held the thing up so that he could see it. It was a velvet covered box. A ring box. An open ring box which held what appeared to be an engagement ring. Carrie stared at the thing for a very long, very silent moment. Words failed her.
