Jack knew enough about how Owen worked and how Martha worked that he just needed to stay out of the way. He would do Toshio no good if he got underfoot. He remained where he was, standing just at the top of the steps, looking down into the medical room. He'd remain there the entire time if necessary, waiting for news.
