[closed to young!stonewall]
Spairn had nearly sicked himself when he'd finally come to the realization that this younger and less female version of Stonewall was in fact who he said he was, and this wasn't a joke. But sometimes even in such a surreal world as this, he still managed to find himself doubting what all the facts pointed to without a little more solid proof. He needed that solid proof.

What a way to push his melancholy on its ass for the month, right? He was shaped up, shaven, wide-eyed and full of anticipation as he took the steps four at a time through the stair well, breathing hard by the time he reached the floor he was addressed to.

God in heaven, his hands were already shaking. Why was this man's name James? Why was he so young, and where did he come from? Was this a possible key to pieces of his life he never knew? Spairn would never use a person for information, but perhaps if he made James understand.. anyhow.

There was a small knock on the door when he found the correct number, and while he waited for the kid to answer he found himself shifting from one foot to the other, awkward in his own body as he pushed the hair from his eyes and smoothed his t-shirt down like he was about to go on a sodding date, or something quite like it.

The knock caught him slightly by surprise, having been staring at the computer screen for the last hour or so. After all, the other guy was pretty far away, wasn't he? It wasn't like he'd REALLY be seeing this Spairn guy soon. It'd be at least tomorrow, he was sure of it. So when the knock came James jumped, blinking as he scratched a hand through his messy blonde hair. Okay, that was just plain creepy, that's what it was. Who the fuck would be visiting him NOW of all times, really? Hell, he didn't even KNOW anyone else, around here. This wasn't home, and this sure as hell wasn't BMU, so there was no reason for anyone to visit him.

Quirking a brow, the twenty-one year old lit up another cigarette before getting up, dressed as he'd been when he ended up here, in a t-shirt and a pair of baggy, ripped jeans. He'd found the complimentary robe that came with the room earlier, and had it slung over his shoulders and left open when he answered the door . . . to find the one person he'd really not been expecting at all. Jamie blinked several times in surprise, eyebrows rising almost to his hairline, before sputtering in his twangy accent, "Uh . . . hi there."

"How's t'form?" He replied immediately, an irate hand reaching up to continue the swiping of that one rogue piece of hair that just wouldn't stay behind his ear. He smiled just a fraction, and furrowed his brow down as he rolled the man's name around on his tongue. "...James. Right?"

It really did show how very adapt to this new world he was when he could jump from Ireland to St. Louis in less than an hour and not even bat an eyelash toward the other person. It was normal! Totally normal!

"I uh.. firstly, my apologies. I was outta line, like." Another smile, this time wider than before as he offered a hand. "Jus' took me by surprise.. n'the problem is, I still cannae place where i' is I know y'from."

He wasn't sure what it was about the man in front of him, but the minute he opened that door and saw him, Jamie KNEW he'd seen him before. The journals didn't count; he had been in this guy's presence before at some point, and he had to figure it out. He had to, or it would drive him crazy. As if he really needed to be pushed in that direction any further, right? That wasn't the point of things, though; what mattered was figuring out how he knew the man in front of him, before he went completely bonkers trying to remember. He usually didn't have any trouble with memories and recognizing faces, but there was just something off with this guy, in his recollection. "Yeah, I'm James." The younger of the two absently bit at his fingernails - a habit he'd picked up years ago, when he was a kid - before moving back to let Spairn into the hotel room.

"I can guess why ya reacted like that. Just threw me when it's one of the first things I see here," he answered with a little shrug, his own messy hair falling in his stubbled face before he turned his gaze fully to the other man and studied him. His head tilted to the side as he did so, trying to place that face, before he blurted out, "Fuck, you look a LOT like Gus . . . just- just older. A lot older."

"Ta, mate." He said with a certain kind of quiet in his voice that just normally wasn't there. He was usually much more outspoken, much more apt to reach out and grab and hug but.. this person was different. Where did he even begin? What did he say? Well, the best place to begin was formal introductions, he supposed.

"I'm, ah.. I'm Spairn? Aye, tha' wasnae question." He rolled his eyes at himself as he twisted around to where the other man couldn't see his face, a hand on his forehead as he finally found those striking blue eyes again. Gorgeous eyes, exactly like the ones that came with the older version.. just less seen in them. Less hard. More rambunctious. "An' I can' say why I came t'you so fast.. bu' see. You ken me. You're someone I should, so there's a piece missin' somewhere."

By the time the other man was in the hotel room and the door had shut again (the Do Not Disturb sign very discreetly slipped onto the knob, of course), Jamie was starting to feel more than a little warm. The younger of the two ran a hand through his messy blonde hair, quirking an eyebrow as he decifered what the other man was saying. He'd had more than a little practice with Irish accents, so he had gotten damn good at figuring out what was meant behind the odd turns of phrase and pronunciations. Scratching his neck, the blonde frowned faintly before deciding he would just have to go ahead, or suffer through burning up under all his layers of clothes. So, without further ado, he stripped off the hotel robe and tossed it over the nearest chair, followed by his shirt. His frame was thinner than the male version of his older self; the Stonewall Spairn would remember. He wasn't as muscular, his body thinner and less developed with the slight baby fat of youth still present in certain places. His chest had a sprinkling of hair, a darker shade of blonde than that on his head and jaw. On his right bicep there was a round, slightly raised scar present, a shade or two darker than the rest of his skin, as if from a burn.

Stretching, Jamie looked to Spairn and gave a shrug. "I'm not good with answers or anythin' like that. I don' know yer name, at least I don't remember hearin' it a'fore."

Mother Mary and Baby Jesus in the cradle, they were both so twitchy. Since when was he ever such a nervous wreck? Fucking hell, he was the man who caused such behavior anymore, not the other way around! Spairn pinched down on his nose as his hand swept down along his face, and soon enough he'd replaced that grimace on his mouth with what he hoped came off as an easy smile. Just because he had to work at it didn't mean a thing, now did it.

..Alright, well perhaps he'd waited until the wrong moment to do that, for it was quickly melted into something less appropriate by the sight of the bloke stripping down to just a pair of ratty old jeans. Bless. ... Wait a moment. Was that - agh, that was supposed to be out loud.

"Wait." He blurted out, holding his hand out in the universal sign for 'stay where you are' as he reached with the other, brushing at the man's fingertips to get him to walk in a little closer. "This is gonna sound like a strange request, like.. but can y'lemme take a look at'cha like this?"

Well, it was a definite understatement to say that Jamie was surprised, when Spairn seemed suddenly so interested in looking at him without a shirt on. He was used to girls fawning over him, over wanting to see him shirtless or in even less, but the only boy he'd really had much experience with was Gus . . . and this definitely didn't count. No, it couldn't count anymore, because Gus wasn't even in this dimension. The very thought flitting through his head was enough to make Jamie feel more than a little depressed, and the mischievous little expression that had been glinting in his eyes dimmed considerably before he stopped in the middle of the room, quirking an eyebrow. He started to cross his arms over his chest in a questioning stance, but stopped himself halfway through. If he was going to be examined so to speak, then it probably wouldn't do for him to be obscuring the view of his body, right? Damn right.

"Have at it."

Ah, the more the boy talked the more Spairn began to realize that this was most definitely a miniature Stonewall - full of self confidence, able to look anyone in the eye without a problem to it and he had quite the sodding mouth, or at least so far that was how it felt. He cracked a small grin at the other man, ducking his head in a thanks when those arms were spread and he began a scrupulous gaze from the top of those wiry shoulders on down to the belly button, taking in every inch, startling inside his mind when he found a familiar scar or two.

"Jamie," he hushed out as he reached in to thumb at the particularly nasty one right above the man's ribs, his features set in a frown before he smoothed across the span of Jamie's side, pulling the boy into a small circle so he could take a look at the uhm, backside. Aheh. No peeking, Spairn, that would be against the rules.

Oh, Spairn hadn't even begun to hear what his mouth was capable of, in more ways than one. Maybe later he'd get the full extent of it, but right now he hadn't seen or heard anything. But hey, it wasn't like he wasn't used to people looking at his body. It was pretty damn good if they were going to look, because he liked being admired more than once. The feeling of eyes on him was always extremely welcome to him, and those eyes, though he didn't know Spairn, felt oddly familiar and he was more than a little amused at the feeling. It left him both anxious and wanting more, and it was an experience he wanted to keep going.

When that thumb brushed across his ribs and the scar there, he swallowed heavily and blinked, turning slightly to try and view the other man and get a view of his expression. He couldn't, though, and before long he felt himself turned and let the other man view his back. There were a few scars there, but not as prominent as the one on his arm, his side, and the one peeking out of the hole in the left knee of his jeans. "Yeah?"
