She almost wanted to fly, but the ferris wheel was doing it for her. She noticed the city lights stretching below her, noticed the fine veins in Alec's hand. It was like her mind was stretching out and touching everything, growing and expanding, like she was having an out of body experience.
She closed her eyes when he touched her cheek, tilting her head into it. When her eyes met his, she shivered from the intensity of the moment. She didn't know why her eyes had teared up while he talked, she just knew they had, and she reached out to wipe them with the back of her hand. "Same here, you know? Sorry. I'm happy, I promise." She laughed at herself and reached out to touch Alec, unable to hold back and fluttering a quarter of an inch off of her seat. She always flew when she was truly happy. The only way she'd found to stop it was to hurt herself, like the time she'd gotten a really sweet voicemail from Alec at work and had had to bite her tongue to keep from flying during fingerpainting time.
